Below is a scouting report on some of the players from the rankings.
Bestic is an attacking midfielder for the Jacksonville FC U15 MLS Next squad. He has been identified by US Soccer scouts and called into a few Regional Talent ID events in the past. He is the focal point of the attack for his club team, much of the play flows through him. He is a clever player who regularly creates chances for his team in the attacking third. He is right-footed and keeps close control of the ball. He draws a number of fouls with the way he uses his body to shield the ball – and a knack for frustrating the opposition. Bestic has the traits of top attacking midfielder in this class.
rnCortes is a talented attacking player. He initially stood out from game film for his effort in pressing. He was hounding down players and forcing mistakes. Once he caught my attention for that aspect of his game, I noticed how efficient he is with his touches. Costas has scored some bangers this season in MLS Next too. He is a top winger from this class.
Highlights
The U15 level looks too easy for Anglin. The Weston FC standout is in the conversation for best outside back in this class. He is a multi-faceted player with a lot of potential. He plays on the right side of the defense for his club side. He is a weapon on both sides of the ball – strong in the tackle and a dynamic threat in the attack. Anglin is excellent at identifying weaknesses in the opposition with his passing – from game film, I saw him play a sublime ball up the line to spring a teammate when the outside back stepped too high and then later in the game, he caught the opposite outside back tucked too far inside and he hit a perfect cross field pass to exploit that side of the field. Anglin should be the on the radar for scouts.
rnSawyer is an athletic, competitive center back for the IMG Academy MLS Next U15 team. He stood out from game film for his effort. Sawyer covers ground, gets stuck in with a tackle, and makes quick decisions on the ball. He is a top player from the IMG Academy group and has been in top form in the past month.
