The team has been on the rise for the last two years, and this Fall will get a chance to show how improved they are as they move into ECNL. The club reached a Champions League place in the NPL the last two seasons, so this positive showing has the Club optimistic.
The team has many strengths, one of which is that the team is honest, meaning they play for each other. They give all out effort in every match. They compete, play hard and this makes them a challenge for any opponent. They are strongest along spine, with solid players down the middle of the pitch. The team will look to improve its goal-scoring record, but with new additions to the squad, that area should improve.
“Whether we are ready for ECNL or not, we will be going into the fall season positively and viewing the step up as a challenge to relish and put our wits against better opponents,” head coach Dave Faulkner said. “With hard work and dedication, which these boys have in an abundance, I see only positive outcomes and huge development opportunities, which will hopefully take these boys to the next stage of their soccer journey.”
Here are four players to watch for as impact players in this upcoming ECNL season.
Nate Coughlin Nate Coughlin F Junipero Serra | 2025 CA , Forward
Coughlin helps address the aforementioned attacking issue, giving SF Elite SC a new attacking threat going forward. He moved in to the club from De Anza and provides an attacking mentality.
Andrew Cudden, Central Defender
Cudden is the captain and the leader for this team He displays great strength to go along with his leadership, and is a competitive player who wants to win every ball, make every challenge and will do what it takes to help his team win.
Ben Duffin, Midfielder
Duffin is a player that shows great versatility in that he can play in the midfield on in defense. He has proven to be a key contributor to this squad for quite some time.
Alex Hughes, Forward
Hughes moved up from the Orange squad, to the Blue squad, and moved from midfield to the No. 9 role. He has shown great strength and ability to hold up the ball and link play. He is improving and should help the team bang in more goals.
