That should change in the near future as players get more information and decide on the right path forward for them. Some of those players who could be early targets for teams have been riding a hot streak recently with either stellar play at the club or high school level.
PrepSoccer takes a look at six players on the rise from the Texas 2025 class.
Garcia is already in the rankings for this class, but she deserves a bit of a special shoutout for her play at the ECNL playoffs. She was fantastic. She was always in the right spot to help support her side. She did well on the ball and made a number of passes to break the line of pressure. Garcia’s composure on the ball and her leadership are two traits that should help her get on the field early on at the Division I level with a top program.
Our scouts highlighted Belanger’s play during the ECNL RL Texas Championship this summer. The five-foot-10 forward is an easy prospect to spot on the field. She has even more to her game with a left foot cannon. The attacker can score from anywhere inside of 30 yards. The physical frame and athleticism should be enough to get coaches interested in her as a prospect for the next level. Her decision-making in the final third makes her a top target for programs looking for a difference-maker who should be able to contribute early.
Tipton has had an incredible soccer season. She was part of the Marcus High School State Championship run. Then she led her club side, FC Dallas ECNL RL 06, to a back-to-back National Championship. The goalkeeper is absolutely fearless. She definitely stands out from her peers with her confidence coming off the line in breakaway situations. She is very good at making successful (clean) tackles in those situations. Given that style of play, it’s no surprise that she’s incredibly tough and not afraid of physical contact. Tipton is good with her feet and can make field-shifting clearances. She has excellent technique in her dives. I’ve seen her make some outstanding saves on penalty kicks for her FC Dallas side. She is well-regarded at her club and was put on the WPSL roster this summer.

Shields has been incredibly busy this month. She has been grinding the ID camps all over the place, which probably means the word is out on her. But she still seems to be a bit under the radar. She is a speedy forward who is hungry to score goals. She is one of those players who does well at getting to the right spots and not wasting touches once she has the opportunity. Shields has qualities that make her a prospect for the next level. If she continues to improve her craft especially with close control of the ball in tight spots, she will take her game to the next level and probably pick up interest from some more programs.
Harris is a goalkeeper who had a decorated high school season that included Second Team All-State honors plus numerous all-City honors. She has a well-rounded game. She is a good shot-stopper and gets her hand on high shots that many goalkeepers might not reach. She is good coming off her line in breakaways. Her distribution is good as she often looks to hit teammates with a quick-release throw. She earned those plaudits with stellar play and consistent play, which are two traits every college coach wants from the most important position on the field.

There are a few players on the Classics Elite team that have been making noise this summer as they’ve been given the chance to play in the WPSL. Lilah Dupree Lilah Dupree F Alamo Heights | 2025 State TX , Addison Miller Addison Miller 5’7″ | F Lee (ISA- Magnet) | 2025 State TX , Abby Casey, and Darling are all earning playing time with the San Antonio Blossoms in the WPSL. Darling’s play recently caught my eye as she is playing with a ton of confidence while playing with and against Division I talent. She is calm on the ball and getting her head up to pick out passes. She is playing like a seasoned vet while being one of the youngest players on the field. The quartet of Classics Elite standouts should be a force to be reckoned with in the ECNL next season.
