Krystin Moore
Moore was a constant threat to BVB’s defense, playing primarily on the left side of Rise’s attack. Very quick and strong, she had tremendous success in her runs, creating good chances to her teammates. She was very aggressive and intelligent in the play that resulted in the game-winning goal, beating a defender off-the-dribble and sending a precise low pass to Hemperley, who scored with a tap-in. Moore used her body well to get on the ball with her back to the goal and made some very quick turns to get into full speed in no time. She also had success with some combination plays through the middle.
Ella Johnson
Ella Johnson
One of Rise’s captains, Johnson anchored the team’s backline with her strong play. A very physical center back, she handled BVB’s offensive pushes extremely well, thriving with her positioning and her ability to use her body to win possession and space. She won b basically every 50-50 play she was involved and played a major role in the second half, when BVB tried to create chances with crosses and long balls and she stepped up win several plays in the air. Extremely vocal, Johnson also did well in possession, connecting short passes and moving the ball quickly across the field – she also had success in some long pass attempts she made.
Dayo Tennyson
Dayo Tennyson
Playing as a center forward for Rise, Tennyson demanded a lot from BVB’s defenders with her constant movement. Although she’s an excellent finisher, she moves around everywhere on the final third to get on the ball, dropping deeper to attempt runs through the middle and drifting to wider areas to take advantage of open spaces. Her movement off the ball is excellent as Tennyson not only does a great job in identifying the most vulnerable areas in the opposing backline, but also times her runs well. She also played an important role on the defensive side of the game, putting a lot of pressure on BVB’s defenders when they had the ball.
Cross had a major impact in the game from her central midfield position. She was heavily involved in Rise’s buildup and dispayed great clarity and precision with her passing, always find good solutions and reaching teammates on good spots, even when she had to operate under pressure. The midfielder also did a good job in terms of shielding the team’s backline, intercepting long passes and blocking the path for some runs attempted by BVB players. Cross was also very important in dead-ball situations, with some relatively dangerous free kick attempts and long throw-ins that generated good chances to her team.

A versatile defender, Bowman started the match playing left back and ended it at center back. She did a good job on both roles, using her strong defensive skills to make it difficult for Rise to create through her area of the field. Bowman reads the game very well, which gives her the ability to anticipate plays and make stops, and also uses her body very effectively, despite not being very tall or strong. She didn’t push forward a whole lot, but was very active in the team’s buildup, displaying patience on the ball to wait for the right pass and quality to execute it. She’s also very confident in possession and on some occassions successfully dribbled the ball in dangerous areas to create space.
BVB’s offensive focal point, Moore had a difficult time creating chances against a physical and well-organized Rise backline, but never stopped trying. Although she typically operates more through the center of the field, the midfielder moved around a lot to get on the ball, dropping deeper at times and looking for pockets of space on the wings. Moore had some good moments with her runs and when initiating combination plays through the middle, but not many of these plays resulted in clear chances. She also tried to finish a few plays herself, but couldn’t quite find the goal.
