South Carolina United Football Club is clearly in great shape on its rosters, as players from the 2008, 2009 and 2010 teams are names that people either already know, or will know. These three South Carolina natives and SCUFC players have really been standing out.

Avery Stoner, Attacking Midfielder, Chapin, Class of 2028

Stoner is a member of the Class of 2028, and has not yet attended Chapin High, but that is where she will go. She plays club for South Carolina United FC, for the ECNL 2010 team. As an attacking mid, Stoner is a beast, and is greatly advanced at a young age. She is fierce, and driven. She plays with a determination and focus that is not common of her age. A fast player, Stoner has incredible agility, shows great movement and a great shot.

[player_tooltip player_id='112090' first='Sydney' last='Stoner'], Central Defender, Chapin, Class of 2026

The older sister of Avery, who was mentioned above, [player_tooltip player_id='112090' first='Sydney' last='Stoner'] is a sophomore center back and Chapin, playing club for SCUFC, as she plays on the 2008 ECNL team. Stoner is a leader, and it's because she does all the of the physical things as well as maintaining the mental aspect. She is a scrappy, determined center back who will fight for everything and is not afraid to challenge. She is also highly technical, allowing her to possess and pick a pass. Stoner is a smart player who leads with her intelligence and with her communication. She is very vocal on the back line.

[player_tooltip player_id='137631' first='Shaelyn' last='Smith'], Defender/Defensive Midfielder, Lexington, Class of 2027

Smith is a freshman at Lexington High, who also plays for SCUFC, playing for the 2009 ECNL team. She is a very versatile player as she can play as an outside defender, a center back or as a holding mid. Smith is a very technical player, regardless of where she is on the pitch. She is a great athlete, and blends a nice combination of patience, smarts and relentlessness. A competitive player, Smith is mentally and physically tough, allowing her to be very disciplined.

South Carolina United Football Club is clearly in great shape on its rosters, as players from the 2008, 2009 and 2010 teams are names that people either already know, or will know. These three South Carolina natives and SCUFC players have really been standing out.
