Another week of action went by in the club season and teams from around the country got to the field looking for wins and to display good performances. Prep Soccer was again following the action, looking for the hidden gems of the sport in the country.

On Saturday, October 28, I was at the Campbell Road Sports Park, in Houston, following the ECNL Boys Texas Conference duel between Albion Hurricanes FC ECNL B09 and BVBIA NTX ECNL B09 - click here to see the best photos of the match.

Albion Hurricanes FC ECNL B09 1 - 1 BVBIA NTX ECNL B09

The visiting BVB side had more possession at the start of the match and tried to find ways to hurt Albion's backline. They attempted several combination plays through the middle and one of them found Diego Arroyo with space on the penalty box to score. The home team reacted and balanced the match but couldn't find a goal before the halftime whistle.

Albion kept the pressure at the start of the second half and was awarded a penalty kick after left back Paul Cannings III sent a cross into the BVB's penalty box and the ball touched the hand of defender Nicholas McNeal-Noumane. Winger Dillon Dixon took it with power and precision and tied the game. Both sides pushed forward looking for a game-winning goal, but defenses prevailed and kept the score even until the end.

Top Performers

Albion Hurricanes FC ECNL B09 vs. BVBIA NTX ECNL B09

<!-- wp:acf/evaluation-block {"name":"acf/evaluation-block","data":{"player_evaluations_0_not_in_database":["not_in_db"],"_player_evaluations_0_not_in_database":"field_62aba48cecf2d","player_evaluations_0_player_details_selected_featured_image":"","_player_evaluations_0_player_details_selected_featured_image":"field_62cca28ffa4e7","player_evaluations_0_player_details_player_name":"Alex Santiago","_player_evaluations_0_player_details_player_name":"field_62aba4c9ecf2f","player_evaluations_0_player_details_graduating_class":"2027","_player_evaluations_0_player_details_graduating_class":"field_62aba4ddecf30","player_evaluations_0_player_details_height":"null","_player_evaluations_0_player_details_height":"field_62aba4e8ecf31","player_evaluations_0_player_details_position":"102","_player_evaluations_0_player_details_position":"field_62aba4f0ecf32","player_evaluations_0_player_details_school":"","_player_evaluations_0_player_details_school":"field_62aba4fdecf33","player_evaluations_0_player_details_club_team":"BVBIA NTX","_player_evaluations_0_player_details_club_team":"field_62d20e723441a","player_evaluations_0_player_details":"","_player_evaluations_0_player_details":"field_62aba4afecf2e","player_evaluations_0_evaluation":"Santiago played a major role for BVB from his central position in the team's midfield. Arroyo was always very, both with his thinking and execution, and it was very hard to anticipate him when on the ball.
