Judge is looking to avoid losing three straight finals in a rematch of the 2021 final. Father Judge lost last year to Archbishop Ryan on penalties and to La Salle 3-2 in 2021.
Here’s a look at some players who could be the difference makers in the second game of the night (Archbishop Wood plays Nazareth Academy in the girls final at 4 p.m.).
Cherif leads the front line for Father Judge and like all strikers can be a little streaky at times. When he’s on he can really do damage and even when the final ball isn’t there for him he’s able to create havoc with his game-breaking pace, size and strength.

Regan is a presence in the midfield on both sides of the ball for Judge and will push the pace going forward and challenge for balls in transition.
Finn Murray
Finn Murray
Murray is a playmaker in the midfield and out wide for the Explorers who will need to be active and impactful to spring the La Salle attack tonight.
Samuel Zieger
Samuel Zieger
Zieger is a dangerous player out up front and when he drifts out wide for the La Salle attack. Judge will need to cut down entry balls and limit Zieger’s touches in the match.
Kevin Castro
Kevin Castro
Castro has great vision and is smooth with the ball, pulling the strings in the final third for the Judge attack. He also provides leadership and has a number of big games for his school and club under his belt.
Ryan Kalup
Ryan Kalup
Look no further than last year’s final when considering how important goalkeepers on both teams could end up being in this game. Kalup has been big in leading La Salle back to the final with a PK shootout win in the quarterfinals and a gutsy performance in the semifinal win. Kalup is a solid shot-stopper with good feet and can be a weapon in starting the attack with his distribution.
Liam Connaghan
Liam Connaghan
Connaghan has had quite the rise this season for the Explorers, going from starting the year on JV to being an integral part of the team and their run to the PCL final. Connaghan scored the game-winner in the semifinal after converting a PK in the shootout in the quarterfinal. He’s also a lock-down defender in central defense who will be tested tonight against the explosive Judge attack.
