Below is the scouting report on some of the top forwards from this class.
Robinson is an attacking talent on the Sporting Blue Valley 09 ECNL team. She is part of the Kansas Olympic Development Program. She can play a variety of positions and is listed as a midfielder on her player profile. I’ve seen her play as a No. 9 and I was really impressed on what she put on game film from playing that role. She was a high-activity player who was excellent in the press. She showed good instincts in shielding the ball while playing with a center back on her back. She has nimble footwork and combined well with her teammates. She has the pace to get in behind the defense. Based on her personal highlights, she plays more on the wing and likes to run at defenders in 1v1 situations. She is right footed but likes to play on the left wing so she can cut inside. She has a wicked right footed shot that can rip the net off the post. Her future is probably on the wing, but getting these valuable minutes at center forward is developing other aspects of her game. She definitely has the potential to be a next level talent.
Hackler is a forward on the Kansas City Athletics 09 ECNL team. She has been part of the US U14 Girls National Team Regional Camp in the past. She plays a No. 9/center forward. She is in the conversation as the best center forward in the country in this class. When in possession of the ball, she is a dynamic playmaker with the hunger of a top goalscorer. She has an advanced approach to the game and does not waste much energy until the moment to make an impactful play presents itself. She has good footwork and showed her quality against Solar. Her playmaking quality might be slightly overshadowed because she is an excellent finisher, but the way she sees passes and plays the ball into the path of her teammates to run onto are special qualities for this age group. The soccer brain is there for a player that can be among the best in the country in her position.
Heredia-Beltran is a winger for the Sporting Blue Valley 08 ECNL. She was part of the U14 Girls National Team Central Regional Mini-Camp. She was named to the ECNL Girls Midwest All-Conference First Team. She is also part of the National Select ODP team. Heredia-Beltran is playing up an age group at the ECNL level, she is an 09 playing with the 08s. She’s often still the best player on the field. Her speed of play definitely stands out as she looks like she is a step or two ahead of the competition in her movement. She is great in the combination play and is always looking for the quick 1-2 pass to get free of the mark. She has a good first touch and can play with a defender on her back. Heredia-Beltran is already an impactful player at the ECNL level while playing up an age group, and has a lot of potential to take her game to the next level, which makes her one of the top prospects in Kansas/Missouri.
Cocumelli is a winger on the Kansas Rush 09 GA team. She previously played for Sporting Blue Valley ECRL. Cocumelli has been on a hot streak since she arrived in the GA this season. She scored a goal in her first game and has been pretty consistently contributing in the attack in every game since then. She is a speedy winger with a nose for the goal and a good right foot. If Cocumelli continues to produce against the best players in that league, it’ll be hard to deny her a spot higher in the rankings in the next update.
