Liviella Langan was one of the top performers from TSC last June. She played as a left back for most of the match but did incredibly well as a left wing in the moments she was in the position. She showed her pace, strength, vision and creativity quickly in the game and was the most effective player to get the ball forward. Langan didn’t shy away from joining the attack while also putting in the work to get back and handle her defensive responsibilities. She took the penalty for the only goal for TSC in the game which was well struck with excellent placement. She displayed her strength in playing with her left foot often to create multiple opportunities from the back line and attacking positions she played in. Overall, Langan had a very impressive game and performance considering the result did not represent the heart she and her teammates showed.
Highlights
Sydnie DuCharme played a good game from the midfield position for TSC. She was patient with her decisions, stayed with her mark well and had good movement off the ball. DuCharme won often in the air and was quick to get right back into play. She did a good job showing in the open spaces when her team had possession and was a big help in keeping the ball for her team. Overall, DuCharme had a good day controlling the midfield offensively and defensively throughout the match.
Highlights
TSC G09 started off with early pressure thanks to the work of Tatum Hartshorn. Her ability in the attacking third was a difference-maker. Hartshorn displayed her strength, footwork and timing in her runs quickly and was a constant threat on the left side of the field. Although TSC fell short, Tatum was always trying to be a step ahead of the speed of play. Her vision and read of the game was apparent with her decision making in every action she had throughout the match. Hartshorn was also one of the few in the game that showed she was constantly checking her shoulder on and off the ball. As much as she deserved a goal for her efforts, she did show she can be a quality player.
Remington Crawford was another player that stood out for consistency throughout the game. She made good passes to help keep the ball and showed her strength connecting with the midfield. Crawford had a big tackle in the first half to prevent what would have been the first goal of the match. Both center backs were beat, but Crawford stepped in to prevent a one vs one situation with the keeper and put a stop to the attack while preventing her mark to be involved. This play lifted her team’s spirits high after spending more of the first half in their defensive half. She showed she can stick to a formation well and recover for others when necessary throughout a game.
Emma Shoemaker is one of the center backs on the TSC 09 team. She had some strong showings on game film from last season. She stayed with her mark very well and was strong into challenges. Shoemaker did have a few moments of missed passes but was quick to try and win it back. One impressive skill she displayed was how well she positioned herself to be an option for her teammates with the ball. There were a number of times her fullback had Shoemaker as an option in tight situations which was excellent. The back line was under pressure most of the game but Shoemaker did a good job putting all of her efforts into tackles, tracking and movement off the ball. She was unlucky not to get the final touch in some of the battles she was in during the match.
