Continue ReadingThe ECNL Girls – Regional League will host its second national event of the season this week, in St. Louis, Missouri, just a month after their first showcase, which took place in Richmond, Virginia, in November.
With matches scheduled for the U15, U16, U17 and U18/19 divisions, as many as 180 teams from the entire country will make the trip to St. Louis to play and showcase their skills from Friday to Sunday at the Creve Coeur Park Soccer Complex and the World Wide Technology Soccer Park.
The state of Texas will be well-represented, with as many as 27 teams entered to take part in the event. As the week progresses, we’ll be presenting some of the most interesting players from the Lone Star State who will be in action this weekend. These forwards are among the ones that can make a difference for their teams:
Lily Franks
Lily Franks
Playing for DKSC G09, Franks will be faced with the backlines of Ohio Galaxies FC, Evolution SC – Mercurial and GTFC Impact. She’s a versatile and talented offensive player, who can do a little bit of everything up top. Franks can play more centrally or on the left and she uses different skills to thrive on the two positions. When playing as a striker, she uses her footwork and excellent positioning to get into good finishing situations to score. As a winger, she’s strong in 1v1 plays and beating defenders off the dribble, but also likes to bring the ball inside to finish.

Ingram will be a big part of Challenge SC G08’s offense against FC United Iowa, Pittsburgh Riverhounds and SLSG Illinois over the weekend. She plays centrally in their system and is typically their main goalscorer, but doesn’t limit her play to the penalty box. Ingram is very mobile, links up well with the wingers and midfielders and is really good at dropping back to create space. She uses both foot well in the final third and plays with a lot of energy and passion.
Camila Mujica
Camila Mujica
With Mujica as the No. 9, NTX Celtic FC G08 will challenge AFA Fillies, Match Fit Academy and FC Wisconsin this week in St. Louis. She’s a threat in the final third because of her quick thinking and the fact that she doesn’t need a lot of touches or too much space to make plays. Mujica is an excellent finisher who can score from anywhere around and inside the penalty box and is extremely successful with one-time finishes. Her movement inside and around the penalty box is also excellent as she’s very good at finding the ball to make plays or score.
Diaz and her Dallas Texans G06/05 teammates are scheduled to meet Utah Avalanche, WNY Flash and SLSG MO this week in Missouri. She’s a dynamic forward, who can be used underneath a more physical forward or out wide. Diaz is a good dribbler and has good pace, but is at her best when she gets to combine with her teammates. The forward is very smart with her decisions in the final third and is also a lethal finisher.
Ava Lamoreaux
Ava Lamoreaux
Lamoreaux will be with Classics Elite G06 when they play Midwest United FC, Sporting Blue Valley and Sporting United during this week’s event. She plays with a lot of energy and is very dangerous because of her ability to get the ball on the left flank and bring it inside to pass or finish. Lamoreaux is great at running behind defenders, used both foot well and is very team-oriented, never hesitating in assisting a teammate in a good spot.
