ECNL Tennessee Showcase: VDA G08 vs Dallas Texans G08

Below is a game report and standouts from the VDA 2008 win over Dallas Texans. </em></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The game started off quickly going box to box. Both teams showed their eagerness to attack early. After the first five minutes, the game started to settle down with a bit more control. VDA began to create more opportunities and showcased that their team was very comfortable playing through their midfield. The Texans had moments of breaking the high press and created opportunities in the attacking third but wasn't able to challenge the keeper. VDA went back to the high-press and was able to earn a penalty kick. [player_tooltip player_id='125514' first='Kyndal' last='Shuler'] dribbled around and through three defenders to get a chance on frame which led to the penalty kick. Serena Keo took the penalty for VDA and had excellent placement to make it 1-0. Most of the game was controlled by VDA after the goal. The Texans had a few attacks toward the end of the game, and had one opportunity late in the match that should have been a goal. In the attack, Keo displayed multiple areas she is not only confident in but excellent at. She was smart in her decision marking. Keo took players on, connected with all players surrounding her and was creative in her movements. She was able to show in spaces to be an option but was comfortable to help the back line while having a player with her. Keo also showed she wasn't afraid to take chances from distance. Overall, Serena Keo is a smart midfielder who is confident with the ball. She connected very well with the players around her and showed she is comfortable playing one touch passes in tight areas. Shuler was able to get some chances in the attacking third and created opportunities often.
