Fantastic Texas Freshmen – Vol. 3

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The high school soccer season is underway in the state of Texas and teams from all over the Lone Star State are currently battling in district play with the goal of advancing to the postseason.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Prep Soccer has been following the action in the Houston area, covering multiple matches a week and reporting on them with photo galleries and player reports.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>We're also paying special attention to the new faces emerging in the region and will periodically list some of the most promising freshmen we've spotted on the field while covering the HS season. Her quality on the ball has made of the left side the strongest in the team's offense as Reef has been combining well with winger Allie Barker to create chances. Reef is an excellent dribbler and being a right-footed player on the left, she has the ability to bring the ball inside, which makes things harder for opponents defending her. She can play out wide or centrally and has spent more time at right back, in part because of an injury to Charlotte Hardig. A technically-sound player, Peterson does all the little things well and is extremely solid defensively, using her athleticism and reading of the game to make stops. A central midfielder, she's very good technically and contributes a lot in the distribution, finding good passes from the center of the field and not needing a lot of time on the ball to make things happen. Alamilla sees the game very well and has great chemistry with her older sister Danica, who plays as a left winger for the Tigers. She's a player with sound technical skills and has been very involved in the team's chance-creation, making good runs with the ball on the flank and finding good passes to her teammates. A lefty, Allison uses her body very well to shield the ball and is very difficult to dispossess. She's excellent at dribbling the ball and is fearless with her runs, going at defenders without holding anything back. York is at her best when used on the right, but she is very good when bringing the ball inside as her excellent decision-making makes of her a very dangerous player around the penalty box.
