Makenna Holub Makenna Holub 5'3" | M Mount Si | 2027 State #40 Nation WA is the top ranked midfielder in the class. She is part of the U.S. Youth National Team pool and one of the best in some time from that role in the state.
Below is a scouting report on some of the other midfielders in the state rankings for this class.
Markow is a midfielder on the OL Reign Academy 09 GA team. She is also part of the Bishop Blanchet Varsity team. Markow impressed me with her quality on the ball at the club level. She possesses good skill and excellent body feints. She can exploit defenders when they are off-ban ace and breeze past them. She is a weapon in the midfield as a two-way player.
Burns is a midfielder on the Columbia Premier 08 GA team. She was part of the Girls Academy Northwest Talent ID event last season. Burns impressed me with her play this season. She is an active player in trying to get touches on the ball through the center 1/3 of the field. She is always moving to make herself an option for her teammates and being demonstrative when she wants the ball – there is no hiding for Burns. She could improve on her passing accuracy, as she looks to have the right idea, but rushes her movement and misses the passing window (in terms of location rather than timing) at times. I like the prospect though as the way she sees the game and the type of impact she has at an elite club level suggest she should be able to make the jump to the next level in the future.
Ibsen is a center midfielder on the Seattle United 09 ECNL team. Ibsen is a key piece of the Seattle United team that sits at the top of the standings in the Northwest ECNL standings. She impressed me with her tactical knowledge. She reads the game well and gets to the right spots. She plays as a defensive midfielder for her club team. I think she has a future as a No. 8 – box-to-box midfielder. She is a creative player in the center. She has excellent playmaking qualities especially in the transition moments of the game. Ibsen is also a part of the ODP for Washington 09 age group and has been a standout at that level as well.
Jude is a midfielder on the Seattle United 08 ECNL team. She is a versatile type of player who could really fit a number of roles. I’ve seen her play in a wide role as a two-way player. Her all-around game lends well to that position as she is a good defender and a smart player in possession of the ball. Jude is one to watch this Spring from the Seattle United squad.
Vysotskiy is a midfielder on the Washington Premier 08 ECNL team. She is a wide midfielder, who can sometimes look like a wingback for her team. The aspect from her game that impressed me was her engine. She was running full-field runs non-stop when she was on the field. She is clean on the ball and pretty good in 1v1 situations. She can navigate in tight spaces, which helps with her work on the touch line. She is a solid defender, and does the work as a two-way player.
Maves is a midfielder on the Seattle United 09 ECNL team. She is an excellent two-way player. Smart about her approach, Maves always seems to be in the right spot for her team. The Seattle United standout has a number of honors to her credit including ODP National Roster for the 09 age group. She does an excellent job off the ball in adjusting her body shape so she can receive the ball facing the field. It’s a part of her game that won’t show up on a highlight reel but it’s a clear indicator that she can play at a higher level because of his she thinks about the game and sets herself up for success.
Williams is a midfielder on the Washington Premier 09 ECNL team. She was part of the US Soccer U14 Girls West Regional Talent ID event last year. Williams is the player in this class most likely to embarrass you on the field. An ankle-breaker with flair on the ball, Williams has left plenty of opponents on the ground while trying to stop her. She is the best finisher among the attacking midfielders in this class. She has the pace to separate from the defender in open field. Williams’ quality is obvious from game film. Her team has had a slow start to the campaign, but they have the talent to quickly bounce back toward the latter stages of the season.
