KEEPER: The Las Lomas keeper, senior Miki Derer is bound for UC Davis where he will play next year. He allowed less than half a goal a game this season, and he really stood tall when playing stiff competition in big games as he stepped up in both the North Coast Section and Northern California playoffs. He was the defensive MVP of the Diablo Athletic League.
DEFENDERS: The three defenders on the list all come from schools that made deep runs in both the section and regional state playoffs. Shota Lam Shota Lam D Dougherty Valley | 2024 CA of Dougherty Valley is a strong senior leader, a defender who can help build up, can score and defends excellently. Marlow Buettner is a big, physical presence and helped the Yellowjackets to an NCS DI title. Beau Lopez Beau Lopez D CA of Monte Vista is another solid all-around defender, and he was selected as the East Bay Athletic League’s defensive MVP.
MIDFIELDERS: Jared Gallegos of Mt. Diablo High was chosen as the DAL’s offensive MVP as he is technically strong with a good shot and the ability to defend as he can play any midfield spot. Sean Rante of Newark is considered by many the best midfielder in the San Francisco Bay Area, as he was very dynamic. He also had 12 goals and 19 assists. Ronan Rattigan, a junior, was selected as a first-team all-EBAL player for De La Salle as he is a creative, technically sound attacking midfielder. Andres Araujo Andres Araujo M Richmond | 2025 State CA , a junior, continues to be a standout for Richmond as he has been since he was a freshman.
FORWARDS: Noel Cabrales of Newark Memorial had a phenomenal year, scoring 39 goals as he was the third-leading scorer in the NCS. Malcolm Zalayet Malcolm Zalayet F #142 Nation CA is a special player, as he has been a force up top for Marin Academy since he was a freshman. He scored 41 goals and will be playing at Cal next season. Dylan Voelker of Livermore was the MVP of the EBAL, which speaks volumes.
