Jackson takes license of her athletic pursuits, she works incredibly hard, and puts in the hard work when nobody is watching and pursues advancement within the soccer context out of a true love for the sport. She pushes herself because she is willing and able, and she also works hard to silence any critics that remain.
“Over the years, there have been more than enough people to doubt me,” Jackson said. “So my motivation to train harder and push myself comes from that. But honestly, I just really love the sport so my passion comes from my love of the sport.”
Jackson has a level-headed approach, which is advanced, and refreshing, coming from someone who is still just a sophomore at Brookwood High in Snellville, GA.
She also had a fire in her belly to be the best, and she does attribute that work ethic to her parents.
“You have to work hard to get what you want, and they taught me that,” Jackson said. “I’m also super competitive and I want to be the best at everything I do.”
The Gwinnett Soccer Academy 2008 player also has a good perspective of the game, showing a good understanding that playing a team game is more important than going for individual glory.
“I have to remember that soccer is a team sport,” Jackson said. “And to play smart, whether I take people on 1v1, or make a simple play, I think about how it can help or hurt the team.”
Jackson is a hard-working midfielder that will work diligently on both ends. She will help build up an attack, break down lines with sharp, precise passes or really get going on a counter attack and she will help protect her back line. A technically clean player, Jackson has a very deft touch, often only needing one or two touches to get a perfect ball off to a teammate. She gets going downhill quickly as she is excellent with the ball at her feet and is not afraid to run at people. She operates in space well and does not panic when pressured.
