The Arizona 2027 class is loaded. The residential academy, Barca Residency Academy, has some of the top talent in the country in this group. Below is a scouting report on some of the best players from Arizona in this class.
Ford is a midfielder from Barca Academy. He previously played for Utah Avalanche. He’s a highly skillful midfielder. He is part of the Barca Academy contingent that is training at La Masia this year. He has also been part of US Soccer Talent ID events in the past. He is left footed. Great passer, unlimited energy supply, and tactically very advanced for this age group. Ford has been a top performer in a number of games recently. He is clearly one of the top players in this age group at the MLS Next level. He had an outstanding goal earlier this season against LAFC. His cross field pass opened up the defense and then he continued his run to finish off the cross. Ford is an impactful player right now and a has a ton of potential for the future.
Beck is a forward on the SC del Sol MLS Next U15 team. He has been part of US Soccer Talent ID events in the past. He also took part in the Best Of event at the MLS Next showcase. Beck impressed me from game film with his dribbling displays. He is a fearless attacker who thrives in 1v1 situations. An elite combination of pace and skill, Beck offers game-breaking ability from the left wing.
Highlights
Groves is a midfielder on the Barca Academy MLS Next team. He previously played for New Mexico Soccer Academy. He was part of the Barca group that went to La Masia in January. He has been part of the US Soccer Talent ID Center events in the past. He was also part of the Best Of MLS Next game during the Showcase. Groves plays as an attacking midfielder. Groves is highly skillful player who might at times get overshadowed on his club team, but there is a player here who could be end up as a top prospected in this class.
Pierik is a goalkeeper on the Barca Academy MLS Next team. He has been part of the US Soccer Talent ID Center events in the past. He is a standout for his position for his comfort and quality on the ball. He plays as more of a sweeper-keeper and is an outlet for his side with his distribution. He’s improved quite a bit this season in his tracking on crosses especially as he regularly starts in a unique position with his preference for being advanced off his goal line. Pierik’s elite traits with his confidence in distribution makes him a top player in the nation in his position.

Interiano is a midfielder on the Barca Academy MLS Next team. He plays as a defensive midfielder. He can play center back as well. He was part of the group that was invited to Training Camp in Barcelona in January. He has been part of US Soccer Talent ID events in the past. He plays as a defensive midfielder for his club side. He is a smooth player with clever movements on the field. He has broken a few ankles with his close control, body feints, and elusive dribbling. There is a physicality to his game, and he is clean in the slide tackle. Interiano is a different type of prospect. He definitely plays at his speed and never looks rushed. He isn’t super impressive in athletic traits, but his soccer smarts shine. He has a very bright future in the game.
Kowall is a forward on the Phoenix Rising MLS Next U15 team. He was part of the US Club Soccer National Selection id2 Tour in 2023. Kowall is a striker. He is a tall forward with elite pace. He easily gets behind the defense at the MLS Next level. He has good close control of the ball. There are times when he hesitates too long on the ball before making a decision on what to do next with the ball at his feet. As long as he continues to improve his pace of play and quick-decisions, Kowall has shown the quality to be on two fat best forwards from outside of an MLS Academy.
