This roster features the top standouts from the 2010 birth year. A few of the players from this age group have played up an age group in the past at the youth national team level. William Recupero (FC Boston Bolts) and Robert Turdean (Chicago Fire) are the two top players in this age group at this time.
Below is a scouting report on a few of the other names to know from this event. The 80-player roster is at the bottom of the page.
Jamil Danjaji
Jamil Danjaji
Danjaji is a forward on the Columbus Crew U15 MLS Next team. He has been one of the best players on that team. Dynamic on the ball, explosive in the open field, Danjaji has the potential to be the No. 9 with this age group for a long time. With his characteristic back flip celebration after a goal, the high-flying athletic striker is a highlight-reel on the pitch. He is playing for an academy that likes to promote players to the first team. As long as he continues to develop his game, there is plenty of reason to believe he is on the professional pathway in the near future.
Anthony Riley
Anthony Riley
Riley is a forward/winger on the Las Vegas Sports Academy U14 MLS Next team. He is listed as a right winger on this roster. He has a bit more positional flexibility as I’ve seen him at outside back and left wing during the MLS Next season. He’s a very good two-way player. I thought he had a strong showing in the game against LA Galaxy earlier this season. The potential is easy to see. He’s got quite a bit of pace. He likes to play close to the touch line and use his speed in 1v1 situations. If the defense shades too far to his side, he has good vision and he is an excellent passer. Riley has a great all-around game for the position.
Jeremiah Alexander-Munoz
Jeremiah Alexander-Munoz
Alexander-Munoz is a defender on the Charlotte FC U14 MLS Next team. He is listed as a right center back on the US Soccer roster for the event. He has some positional versatility and could slot in at right back as well. He’s a rising star for Charlotte FC. A crafty player on the ball, Alexander-Munoz offers a lot in a possession-dominant playing style. He is not the tallest defender in this group but he uses his smarts and reads the game well to make impactful plays for his side.
Jackson Bowman
Jackson Bowman
Bowman is a defneder on the Houston Dynamo U14 MLS Next team. He plays left center back for his club team. He is one of the best center backs in MLS Next in the 2010 age group this season. There is a veteran quality to his game. He doesn’t try to do too much but always does the right thing to help his team win. He is left footed. He is an exceptional passer. He can split the opposition with his grass-cutting passes. He does a good job organizing his defense and setting the line for the trap. Bowman is physical in the tackle and uses his strength well. He should be one of the top players at this event.
