Among the midfielders in this class, there are a few uncovered gems who should be in the spotlight in the next few months as scouts survey this group as future recruits. Check out some of the names to know from the Illinois midfield rankings.
Mrotzek is a midfielder on the FC United 08 GA squad. She is an attacking midfielder with a nose for the goal. Mrotzek’s contributions in her goal-scoring ability from outside of the box makes her an elite prospect from this class. She has a strong right foot and excellent accuracy. She can hit with her left as well, but the right is the more likely to score. Mrotzek is part of the Midwest ODP pool, as one of the top players in the region.
Trautman is a midfielder on the DePaul College varsity team. She is a versatile player who could play a number of positions. Her contributions in the attack third this season suggest the quality be to be a No. 10 at the next level. Trautman is a bit an off-the-radar prospect as she isn’t part of one of the big nation-wide leagues or clubs. She has the physical profile and skill to jump out from game film at the high school level. She has potential to really impress some coaches during upcoming ID camps.

Mondejar is a midfielder on the GLSA FC 1974/Rockford Raptors teams. She is a technical player with dynamic pace and a knack for cutting on a dime. Mondejar is part of the Illinois ODP. She might be one of the most electrifying midfielders in this class. Mondejar captivates scouts with her charging runs through the midfield. She is decisive in her action and quick to get to full speed on the ball. She needs to improve on her first touch because it can slip away from her a bit and that will be punished at the college level. But the potential she offers as a playmaker in the midfield is enticing and sure to get the attention of scouts in the region.

Chaddock is a midfielder on the CIU 08 team. She was part of the Girls Academy Talent ID Midwest event. She is also a bright spot at the high school level with her play for Peoria Notre Dame. Known for her work rate and unstoppable engine, Chaddock is an impactful player at the elite club level. Her fearless contributions and toughness will keep her on the field at the next level. She might not start day-one, but she will be a multi-year starter for a top program.

McMillian is a midfielder on the Sockers GA U19 team. She is a top talent in this class. She offers a bit of everything as an attacking midfielder. Her never-quit attitude shines from game film. She could improve on her control of the ball – especially in using her body to shield off defenders. McMillan’s recent play has shown a elite ability in the final third to create chances for her side. She can be a weapon on the wing as well thanks to those attacking instincts.
