Seacoast
Seacoast is in a group with Skyline Elite, Sunrise Sting 09 DPL, and Cincinnati United. It’s a difficult group, but the Seacoast squad has the quality to shine from Group J. Seacoast’s results in 2024 have not gone in their favor, but they have been close in every game. There is reason to believe the stars of the team will shine in North Carolina.
Reardon is a dynamic attacking threat. She is very much a high energy forward. She brings a unrelenting approach to pressuring the opposition and creating chances with her effort. Reardon’s ability to create chances has been on full display in recent games. She can breakdown a defense with her pace and serve in a cross. She will be one to watch in North Carolina.
Wilson is the center of the defense for Seacoast. She is a consistent player who brings the same effort and competitiveness in every game. Wilson has stood out as a weapon on set pieces for Seacoast in recent games. She is a target on corner kicks. Defensively, she is a good 1v1 defender. She is physical defender who uses her body well to take the ball off forwards. Wilson is a key piece of the success for Seacoast.
Syracuse
Syracuse enters the event with games against Albion SC Las Vegas, SJEB FC, and West Florida Flames. The New York club has enjoyed a strong season and sits in the top spot in the Northeast bracket with a 4-2 record. Thanks to key contributions all over the pitch, Syracuse is going to be one of the top teams at this event and should provide some entertaining games for scouts.
Young is one of the defenders on the Syracuse DA 09 team. She can play a number of positions, but she really shined in a center back role from recent games. Comfortable on either foot, Young is an excellent distributor from a defensive role. Her qualities in possession are very good, but she is elite defensively. Fearless in the tackle, Young is a physical defender who likes to get contact with the attacking player. She has good technique in her slide tackles, and a smart understanding of when to resort to those. Young’s play in recent games have made Syracuse’s defense among the best in the GA.
Highlights
Scheidelman is an attacking midfielder on the Syracuse DA 09 team. She is a skillful player with a knack for playing quick combination passes with the wingers. She has good vision and does an exceptional job at finding space to receive the ball. She is a willing runner and has a high engine. She is a catalyst in the attack for the Syracuse side.
Rayhill had a stellar freshman season at the high school level and has continued that run of play at the club level in recent months. The striker is a top finisher for the region and one of the most dangerous players around the box. She can play with her back to the goal and tends to stay in the center of the field, but she is willing to drift wide. When she faces up with a defender, she has the skill to break some ankles and skate past. Rayhill’s excellent at pinning defenders on her hip and spinning off of them. She will be a key part of the Syracuse attack.
NEFC
NEFC is one of the top teams at this event, and enter as the favorites in Group K. NEFC is sitting near the top of the table in the Northeast with a 5-2-1 record on the season. The scouts will be lined up to see this group.
Kaminski is a defender on the NEFC team. She was recently invited to a US Soccer Talent ID event for the 09 age group. She has also been part of the Girls Academy Talent ID events in the past. Kaminski has been a standout this season for her side. I’ve seen in a left center back role. She looks confident on the ball and calm in playing out of pressure. I like her decision-making in possession. She is willing to play through the goalkeeper to open up the field for her side and keep possession. She is a good leader of the defense and keeps the side organized. Kaminski is a top player to watch at the event.
DaSilva is a winger on the NEFC 09 GA team. She is very calm on the ball. She has sublime skill and a knack for dribbling past defenders. DaSilva impressed me with her play recently as she was confident to keep her head up and scan the field to find the best option for her side with the next pass. It’s rare to find left-foot dominant players with her level of composure and smarts.
Cedar Stars Bergen
CSA Bergen has been battling this season and been on the wrong side of a lot of tough results. The overall results don’t reflect the quality on the roster. This is a group with a lot of potential and a few players who had outstanding seasons at the high school level.
Gaetani jumped off the screen immediately from CSA Bergen game tape. She should be getting looks at a higher level from the club game (GA Talent ID would be a great showcase for her). She has a good first touch, subtle moves, and a high-level understanding of the game. She played as an attacking midfielder from the games I saw, but it looks like she played on the left wing for her high school. Wherever Gaetani lines up on the field, she is a dangerous attacking talent with a lot of potential.
