The Wisconsin High school season is coming down the stretch, and the ECNL playoffs are just around the bend, and these seven girls are players who are impacting their clubs or their high schools. With a ton of talent, a lot of passion and desire, they play hard, work hard and boast great ability.

Brinley Dunsirn, Forward/Midfielder, Appleton North

Dunsirn attends Appleton North and plays club for the SC Wave 2008 team. She is a versatile player that can feature as a forward or a midfielder. She leads her high school team in goals and she also sets up her teammates. Her versatility is key as she can adjust to the game plan, and sometimes play in defense. Because of playing at all three levels, she understands the game at a very deep level. It has offered her many perspectives, so her vision is excellent. She is clearly selfless as she will do wht it takes to help the team win, not going for glory, but making the best decision. She is a great teammate and creates bonds with the other girls and with coaches, as she really enjoys soaking up knowledge.

Livia Guadagno, Keeper, Arrowhead

Guadagno is Dunsirn's teammate with the 08 SC Wave team. She is a keeper at Arrowhead High. With communication skills, she keeps her back line organized and calm, which helps when an attack comes quickly. She knows where to ask defenders to drop and to fill. She's also very technically gifted as she can play with the ball at her feet and help build up out of the back, giving her team 11 players that can truly possess and help keep the ball. If you see her play, you will see she is growing more and more confident with the ball at her feet and staying calm if she is pressured. As far as her hands go, she makes up for being on the smaller side with quick hands and reactions, making saves that look to be tucking in under the crossbar. She's also getting better at catching the ball when possible as opposed to parrying the ball away. She extends well to cover not only the ball heading for the roof of the net, but she covers post-to-post well and she gets to the upper V's well, also. Guadagno had knee surger in December and has had to work hard to come back from that, and because she has such a strong work ethic, she has made it back quickly and is stronger for it. She loves the game and it shows with how hard she works and how much she trains.

[player_tooltip player_id='171796' first='Mia' last='Hurd'], Keeper, Cedarburg

The Cedarburg High and FC Wisconsin player is a keeper who handles the ball so well. Having moved into a difficult ECNL league after moving clubs, she has gotten much better as the game has become faster, and she is showing that she can continue to stop shots, handle the ball and position herself with the best of keepers. As she grows in confidence, you see her coming off her line and being more aggressive in coming for crosses, and she boasts fantastic technical skills as she can distribute and shows good footwork when the ball is on the floor. A good leader, she is a commanding presence between the posts and she is very vocal and keeper her defenders informed. She is only growing as a leader.

[player_tooltip player_id='61122' first='Elsa' last='Maurer'], Central Defender, Muskego

Maurer is looking to lead Muskego to a third consecutive state title, and also plays club for a very good SC Wave 2007 GA team. As a center back, she sees the field and reads the ball well. She interprets the play and knows when to step. She is also very skilled when it comes to clearing the ball from the box and interrupting set plays. She is strong in the air, and also very good with a timely slide tackle or poking the ball away. Her 1v1 defending also stands out. She's also a very good communicator and organizer, keeping the shape of the defense.

[player_tooltip player_id='171798' first='Claire' last='Paschke'], Outside Defender/Midfielder, FC Wisconsin

Paschke can play at all three levels, making her invaluable for her club, FC Wisconsin, where she plays year round, currently playing ECNL Super Cup. She can play out wide as an outside back or a wide midfielder, and can really push up the field quickly into the final third. She has such speed that she can track back quickly and close down. She's dynamic in that she covers a ton of ground on the pitch and with her high endurance, she does not tire easily. She shows good vision when on the ball and delivers accurate passes and crosses. She is not selfish whatsoever, wanting to win for the team and make her teammates better. She's growing as a 1v1 attacker as well, learning to use her skills to skin a defender. Paschke is a high work rate player who shows great desire to win and improve.

Lucy Santharam, Outside Defender, Arrowhead

Santharam is one of the key defenders that works with Guadagno, the Arrowhead keeper, and both play at SC Wave. She is the right back, who's comfort with the game and instincts have just gotten better and better. She trusts herself without overthinking it and relies on her teammates. She's becoming more versatile in terms of contributing in all facets and she is expressing herself more on the pitch. A team-first player, Santharam is a very agile, quick wide player who works hard, competes and works well within a team concept.

[player_tooltip player_id='175775' first='Mila' last='Schroeder'], Central Defender, Germantown

Schroeder is a freshman at Germantown High, playing GA at SC Wave for club. She is a center back, and this position certainty comes after years of playing many positions. She is skilled and versatile, and can play nearly anywhere and be effective, but has decided to focus on center back. She played a lot of forward before, and that has allowed her to think like a forward and anticipate what they will do and she can adapt and react quickly. She is turning into an excellent 1v1 defender, and she is growing into a vocal leader role as well. Schroeder has excellent foot skills and ball-playing ability. She plays with a calm and composed demeanor, which is incredible for a freshman on varsity.

The Wisconsin High school season is coming down the stretch, and the ECNL playoffs are just around the bend, and these seven girls are players who are impacting their clubs or their high schools. With a ton of talent, a lot of passion and desire, they play hard, work hard and boast great ability.
