He has great presence and great poise as he acts as a leader and as an organizer. He is also hard to beat from close range because he uses his size and uses his understanding of angles to close out on attackers quickly. He plays with a calm demeanor, but is vocal when he needs to be and leads by example. He is very well-rounded as he is a solid shot stopper, shows good technical skills in his ability to play a ball at his feet, and to drop an accurate pass when he distributes. He plays with determination and he plays with a lot of grit. It also helps that he is exceptionally talented. He is one of the fastest keepers in Northern California in terms of his reactions to a shot or an attacker coming into the area. He pounces, and does so quickly. He can cover well in the air as he is good at taking away the near post and using his athleticism to cover the far post. He comes out quickly, and does so aggressively to where an attacker has to make a decision, and they usually get out of the way because Ruy comes like a freight train.
