Six Top Talents from Project 510

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>A different and what I believe improved approach to youth development in the USA. Project 510 do things a little different. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The team is affiliated with the USL Championship outfit Oakland Roots. The club has taken a different approach to developing their youngsters. Instead of playing in the widely popular MLSNext or ECNL youth competitions they have decided to compete in the UPSL and USL2; which are Tier 4 competitions on the USA Soccer Pyramid. Where their young players are exposed to playing against men year-round. This season their young squad went all the way to the USL2 Western Conference Final (National Quarter-Final). An incredible achievement given that they were the youngest team in the entire competition. Even more eye opening is that this is only their second year in existence. Most USL2 teams are made up former and current college players 19-23 years of age. Project's squad is mostly made up of kids 15-19 years of age. It is a philosophy that I agree with, and I believe will pay dividends in the long run for not only the players but the club as well.&nbsp;</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>By playing against older, more physically developed, and experienced players these kids who are playing with Project 510 are exposed to a higher level of competition than their counterparts who are competing in MLSNext or ECNL at their age group. A cherry on top for players competing for Project 510 is that, it isn't a pay to play program and the players are on a professional schedule. They train every day at a beautiful facility that used to be home to the Oakland Raiders before moving to Las Vegas. The improvement the players are showing is drastic. He has exceptional vision and decision-making ability. He's an excellent line breaker and very smooth on the half turn. His crossing ability is exceptional, and he can play multiple positions astutely. One of the few young men who have to make a choice between lucrative scholarship offers from colleges or pursuing a professional contract. With more and more players leaving college early for more lucrative professional offers he has the potential to be one of them. Very hard worker and leads by example. He's a Center Back who has a great physique to go along with a high motor. Camier also plays far beyond his young age tactically as he positions himself very well. His efforts haven't gone unnoticed at the club. This young striker is a major problem for opposing defenders. His movement off the ball is superb. He gets in great pockets of space and will drop deep to facilitate attacks for his team. Decision makers within the club have rewarded him for his success on Project as he has played a handful of times for the first team in the USL Championship &amp; US Open Cup. He is the only Project player to score for the first team, in front of 6,000 people at Cal State East Bay. This little winger is scary on the dribble. His low center of gravity gives him the ability to decelerate, twist and turn on a dime. He manipulates the ball very well in tight spaces and can finish plays off when given the chance. Very intense and competitive player.
