Top six players from the Georgia 2028 Rankings

In this article:
The Prep Soccer 2028 state rankings for Georgia will be released this week. Prior to the unveiling of the whole list, Prep Soccer gives a preview of the top players from this class.
Check out a scouting report on those players below.
Ferreira is a 2010 who plays up an age group at the club level with the Southern Soccer Academy 2009 MLS Next team. He is the top goalkeeper in Georgia in this class. An elite shot-stopper with high level distribution quality, he offers the traits that scouts look for from goalkeepers who could develop into contributors at the highest level. He plays with a lot of confidence and often plays off his line to help with the high line of the defense in front of him. His footwork allows him to handle that type of pressure. Ferreira has a bright future in the sport.

Bond is one of the top ranked players in Georgia in this class. He appears to be on the fast track to the professional level based on his play in the last two seasons at the club level. Atlanta United promoted Bond to play with the U15 team during the MLS Next Cup playoffs. He earned a starting role at right back for that side. He possesses elite traits in recovery speed. Bond needs to improve on his touch and open field defending in the future as it looks like he will be playing against professional talent in the near future and those types of mistakes will be punished. That said, there is more than enough top-tier quality on his player profile to see why he is highly rated by the youth national team scouting network and the Atlanta United technical staff.
Highlights
Santillan is a midfielder from the Concorde Fire Platinum who earned a spot on the US Soccer Youth National Team for the 2010 age group. Santillan was one of the top players at the Boys ECNL playoffs over the summer. His goal against Dallas Texans was spectacular. The ability to control the ball and evade a handful of defenders inside of the box and still pull off that finish shows off the extraordinary talent that he is. There are physical profile comparisons to Tanner Tessman. Santillan is a box-to-box midfielder. I felt like there were moments when he looked a bit gassed during this long postseason run, but then he provided moments of brilliance too. There's a lot of potential here, as he could take a big step forward in his consistency defensively and be a more complete player all over the field.
Highlights
Fakiyesi is a top ranked player in Georgia in this class. The 2010 standout earned a spot on the Atlanta United 09 team for the U15 MLS Next Cup playoffs. Fakiyesi started at left back for the squad and showed well in every game. He is a strong two-way player. He can defend and shutdown wingers. He has good game awareness and makes good decisions on the ball. I think Fakiyesi has the highest upside on this list. It's easy to see how his game develops to get ready for the next level.
Highlights
McGilvray is one of the best players on the Southern Soccer Academy 2009 MLS Next team. He had a stellar season last year at the club level. He is a September birthday, so I believe a 2028 class. He is right footed, plays as a defensive midfielder. The way he reads the game and anticipates where to be is elite for his age group. From game film, it was obvious he was one of the most impactful players on the field. He was always around the ball and making the right decision on the ball. McGilvray is one of the top players from outside of an MLS Academy in this class.
Highlights
Twumasi is a winger on the KSA 2009 MLS Next Team. He is a 2010 who earned a spot on the MLS Next Best of game in the 2009 age group. I saw Twumasi play on the wing. He is a bright talent from Georgia, which will likely gain the interest of scouts at the professional level. Twumasi is elusive with the ball on his feet. He has good close control and quick burst to explode away from defenders. He can improve on his defending - especially against older competition, he can get muscled off the ball. He was dominant against his own age group at the MLS Next Cup this summer. He has been part of the US Soccer Talent ID events in the past.
