I never thought March Madness could come in November. But that was surely the case over the past couple weeks.

With all the upsets, I had a really hard time making a final rankings list. Mainly because I debated with myself on so many teams. Ultimately, it came down to the following criteria (top first)

Biggest accomplishment

Season consistency

Playoff success

With that said. It's only right Hersey takes the top spot. They had a few tough losses but some big time wins as well en route to a thrilling state championship. GK Adrain Smakowski was superb in goal. Failing to concede a goal from the super sectionals onward and even netting a penalty in the championship penalty shootout with Lane Tech. Due to the season-ling success. I believe Naperville North still takes a top three spot behind Hersey and Lane Tech.

De La Salle gets a jump into the top 10. They were so close from becoming the first CCL school to win a soccer state championship and fell in a 2OT thriller to Althoff Catholic. They get their leading scorer back next year in Alex Panduro. Who scored 34 times this year with 14 assists.
