Best Players of the Top Ranked Teams: Myers Park High School

<a href="https://www.maxpreps.com/nc/charlotte/myers-park-mustangs/soccer/">Myers Park High School</a> is the next team in this series of articles. They were one of the most exciting teams to watch this season, with a strong attacking and defensive performance. The <a href="https://www.maxpreps.com/nc/soccer/rankings/1/">7th-placed state ranking</a> is very well deserved after winning their conference, and a deep run in the playoffs. Myers Park losing in the fourth round of the <a href="https://www.nchsaa.org/bracket/2024-4a-mens-soccer-bracket/">4A playoffs</a> also marked their only loss of the season. This team is brimming with talent in all areas and narrowing it down seems unfair. Nonetheless, these are the five most talented players in my opinion.    Olufemi is a very talented winger/wide midfielder, who primarily plays out on the left. His ability to keep his width at all times is crucial for the team, helping advance attacks with or without the ball. Because of the width he provides his team, he always finds himself in space to work with. He excels in these spaces too, taking the ball to the defenders bravely. His agility and determination lead to plays finishing in or near the box. Also, his final deliveries, whether they be shots or passes, are another one of his fortes. He keeps his head up looking for whatever option is best, executing them greatly. In the final third, he's incredibly effective and a fantastic helping hand in attack.     Beni is one of the most special striker talents I've seen. The role comes naturally to him, playing with immense confidence. Though his main attributes shine brightest in the box, his willingness to participate in build-up makes him a complete talent. He'll drop back to receive and lay off, not only helping the ball move but creating space for himself. Since he's so quick, he can exploit those spaces with ease. If he's not running onto a pass, he's receiving it at his feet. This doesn't phase him at all, with his talented dribbling also leaving defenders behind. In the box, he's a cold-blooded striker who loves to score. Finding the target isn't hard for him, regardless if the shot is powerful or placed. His positioning and physique give him the advantage as well, leaving him with greater chances to shoot.     Tyler is one of the most effective goalkeeping talents at this level. Though he's still young, he's incredibly tall which helps in covering more of the goal. His imposing figure in net makes the opposition struggle as to what they need to do. The stats he finishes the season with are fantastic too, with 14 clean sheets and 6 goals conceded in 20 matches. Since his team is so dominant, he often finds himself as another option to build up with, and he does so well. Another attribute is his powerful throws, especially ones on the ground.     Henry is a well-rounded wide midfielder who plays primarily on the right. His work rate is impressive, being an important tool in both defense and attack. In defense, he drops deep to make a compact block. He often wins the ball back himself, but if he doesn't, he's immediately ready to join the attack. He's a constant headache on the opposing left flank since he doesn't let them build while also creating plays. His selflessness is his main attribute, always looking to provide an assist. The passes he plays from the positions he plays them from prove he prioritizes his team over his own goalscoring. Another attribute to note are his throw-ins which always create danger. He's the designated throw-in taker wherever it is, and you can see why.     Andre is a very talented and well-rounded right-back who is a crucial part of this team's success. At some point, he used to be a forward, which is something you can tell in his attacking style. He plays as an inverted right-back who joins attacks from the opposition's defensive blind side. When he's in the final third, he constantly looks to either score or assist, constantly playing dangerous passes. Defensively, his pace and physique make him almost impossible to get past. He knows how to use his body to win the ball back cleanly and start attacking plays from deep. His interceptions are also great, making it unlikely for him to get beaten by a pass.
