2024 D1 OHSAA State Championship: Stand-Out Player Performances

Mickey played a winger position during this game and he quickly stood out due to his defensive work rate. He quickly worked to win the ball back after a change in possession. Mickey also has a great first touch, which he uses to elude the first defender and get to the inline for a cross. Mickey is very elusive on the ball and attacks defenders fearlessly. Bryce played as a winger in this matchup and found himself involved all through-out the first half. I noticed how often I saw Bryce on the ball in comparison to other forwards in the game. Bryce wants the ball at his feet and will work to get it back. He's a dynamic attacker that can do anything due to his athleticism and composure on the ball. I believe bryce could play anywhere across the frontline and be very dangerous. He's physical enough to play the center forward position and agile enough to play from the width. Bryce scored the single most electrifying goal I have seen in recent history with the last touch on the ball in the game. [player_tooltip player_id='14698' first='Samuel' last='Trivisonno'] had a fantastic game. He is a fantastic all-around player, with quite the wow factor. Samuel created two sensational opportunities in this game, that very few players could have attempted. His ability to control the ball around defenders is incredible. However, Rice and the St. Charles backline were able to hold the ingatius forwards scoreless through regulation, despite facing an onslaught of shots throughout the game. St. Charles faced twenty six shots in this game and Rice was able to keep the sheet clean almost the entire game. Justis played a great game in the backline. He is a physical presence in the backline and a fantastic one-on-one defender. Justis was very disciplined in his positioning all game and even assisted in the attack off the dribble a few times. Additionally, Justis was able to facilitate a lot of the team's offense during this game by possessing with the midfielders and occasionally playing a well-placed long ball for his forwards to run onto. Justis played a beautiful long ball that resulted in one of the best opportunities of the first half. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- /wp:acf/evaluation-block --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>This was a matchup for the ages!
