Similarly to the U17 group, North Carolina was represented by the same eight out of the nine teams at the ECNL Regional League in Florida at the U18/19. The only team missing in this category is Charlotte Independence, though Charlotte Independence South did participate. In this case, we see more mature players closer to the professional game. Talents in these teams are plentiful, but these are the most distinguished.

Maksym is a promising player who can play on either wing. In this tournament, he played as both a right and left midfielder and great in either. The left-footed winger is very tactically apt, keeping his position perfectly at all times. This allows for both build-up and long possession circulation to move smoothly. He's also a very progressive passer, getting the ball forward as much as possible. His passes are fantastic as well, pulling off wonderful plays from wherever. The curve and weight he puts on them help beat defenders with ease if he's passing from deep. If he's closer to the box, he plays precise passes into the box, creating constant danger.

John is a very talented attacking midfielder/winger who has bags of potential. The most eye-catching attribute he demonstrates is his ball control. If the ball arrives to him in a difficult position, he has the ability to keep the ball close to his feet. He also has a peculiar, yet effective, skill which is flicking the ball to both control and direct play. Another one of his attributes is the ability to exploit spaces without needing pace. When he sees a pocket of space, he gets into it and produces moments of brilliance. Whether it's a pass or a dribble, he makes the opposing defense regret leaving space for him.

Truett is a talented deep-lying midfielder who helps control his team perfectly. Playing in a double-pivot, he helps with the build-up immensely. He'll drop deep to receive the ball if the defense needs help in build-up and circulates the ball smoothly. When he passes, he always looks to play progressive ones. Even if he's facing backward, he has the ability to rotate on his axis to be able to get a progressive passing lane. If he needs to switch the field, he can do so with ease as well. His reactions are fantastic too, being able to anticipate passes quickly. He intercepts and tackles really well too, making him uncomfortable to play around for the opposition.

Omar is a center-back who is extremely talented. Pacey and intelligent, he makes his goalkeeper's job much easier. Getting past him is nearly impossible because, alongside his pace, he is strong and tall. His long legs help to tackle with ease and he does so cleanly. It's rare to see him go to the ground, meaning that most of his tackles are standing. On the ball, his distribution from deep is phenomenal. His short passes always find a player who can progress the play down the center. When he plays long passes, he can beat many defenders with precise passes. To add more brilliance to his game, he is also a great penalty taker.

Jalen is a great left-back who helps his team perform all-round on his flank. In defense, he clamps down whoever comes near him whether they're on or off the ball. Regardless if he's defending out wide or more cut in, he'll always prove to be a huge obstacle for the opposing attacker. He also has some good punctual defense moments, such as clearing the ball off the line. In attack, he offers a lot of support as well. Though he overlaps well, he doesn't need to do it often to create danger. He'll play 1-2s to generate space, as well as playing passes into the box. When he overlaps, his crosses are always dangerous.

Ibra is a player that I've written about numerous times. However, in this tournament, he played in a different role than what I've seen him. Typically, I've seen him play as the lone striker, but he plays in the second-striker/attacking midfielder role. As per usual. he excels and demonstrates his technique, skill, and intelligence. He loves to have the ball and makes a fool out of defenders who try to dispossess him. His high press makes it hard for the defense to play out from deep. Pockets of space attract him like a magnet as he constantly finds himself in one. If he's thrown out wide because of the context of the play, he doesn't look phased at all.

Yet another left-back talent, Donovan is a fantastic player who encapsulates the attributes a modern fullback needs to have. Great positioning both in and out of possession, he understands tactics down to a tee. In defense, he uses his long legs to his advantage, picking the ball off the opposing wingers seamlessly. If the play asks for him to clear the ball, he does so by booting it as far forward as possible. When his team is in attack, he positions himself wherever he's needed the most. He can carry the ball on the wing, but his main attribute is his ability to pass the ball into the box. His crosses are fantastic, wherever he sends them from.
