ECNL Texas: Impressive goalkeepers in the 10s age group

The ECNL Girls soccer League held its second National Event in the 2025 calendar year this past weekend, in Dallas, Texas, featuring three days of action involving over 200 teams from the entire country at the Toyota Soccer Center and the MoneyGram Soccer Park. With the event concluded, it's time we feature the players that impressed us with their games. We begin with the 10s division and today we'll focus on the goalkeepers:    Gaffney's Real Colorado National team tied all three matches over the weekend in Dallas. I watched her during their second match, a 2-2 draw with Bethesda SC, where she was able to showcase her skills. Even though the match was mostly happening in midfield, with intense battles for the ball, the goalkeeper was called upon on a few occasions and responded well, displaying solid positioning, excellent reflexes and strong solid foundations. Gaffney also did a good job with her feet, finding smart destinations for her passes and helping her team maintain possession.     Winters appeared in goal for the Washington Premier team that dropped all three matches in the event. Despite the difficult weekend, she performed well in their 2-0 loss to Sting Austin on Sunday. Winters was particularly effective at handling crosses as, despite not being extremely tall, she navigated the penalty box extremely well and always found the best route for the ball. She also made some nices saves in shots, doing a good job of getting to the upper corner while also being very quick to get to the ground. The goalkeeper was also efficient when putting the ball back in play with long and accurate punts.    <figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img src="https://prepsoccer.com/wp-content/uploads/sites/8/2025/02/2J4A0072_318ae5.jpg?w=1024" alt="" class="wp-image-279688" /></figure>    St. Jean was one of the goalkeepers of the Richmond United team that completed its campaign in Dallas with one win, one tie and one loss. I got to watch her play in a 1-1 tie against [program_tooltip program_id='278665' first='Classics' last='Elite'], when she was under heavy pressure for most of the time and responded well. The team from Texas was controlling the actions and fired several shots on target, but St. Jean did a great job of remaining focused and efficient, getting stop after stop. She was also super calm on the ball and did a solid job with her distribution out of the back for them.     Sisnett was with the Chicago Inter Soccer team that had one win and two losses in the showcase. I watched her in their only victory, a 1-0 triumph over DKSC on Sunday, and she was instrumental in their positive result. An extremely athletic and technical shot-stopper, she made some impressive saves for her team, getting to difficult shots on the corners. Sisnett's superior physical tools also helped her get to the ball in no time when she had to leave her spot and stop through balls.     Birdwell's Sting Black team ended the event undefeated, with two wins and one tie. I got to watch her on Sunday, when she probably had her busiest shift, in a 3-2 win over Eclipse Select. There was nothing she could have done to stop the two goals her team conceded and the goalkeeper still came up on other occasions for the Texas side. Birdwell left a strong impression with her remarkable reflexes and with how reliable she was every time she went for the ball to make a save.    <figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img src="https://prepsoccer.com/wp-content/uploads/sites/8/2025/02/2J4A0107_784208.jpg?w=1024" alt="" class="wp-image-279701" /></figure>    Bieg was one of the goalkeepers of the SLSG Navy side that secured two wins and one tie over the weekend in Dallas. I followed the only match in which the team conceded, a 1-1 tie with Seattle United on Sunday, but she still had a very good performance - and was only beaten by a perfect shot in a 1v1 play. Bieg was very reliable every time she needed to work, using her positioning and reflexes to make stops between the posts.
