The 2028 class in the PNW is in prime form! The High School season is long over and the ECNL and GA seasons are in full swing. Multiple showcases from the 'Big 2' have already occurred in the 24-25 season. ECNL St. Louis, Florida and Texas are in the books and the Winter Showcase & Champions Cup in California for the GA are around the corner. These events have given many athletes the platform to shine. Not ALL clubs from the PNW have sent teams to each of these events. However, there has been a quality mix of clubs, age groups and players that have had an opportunity to play at a high level against top competition in front of college coaches.

The showcases are not the end all be all when it comes to showing out on the pitch. League season is vital to honing an athlete's craft and playing in front of local collegiate coaches that are looking for talent in their own backyard. Conference play also allows teams to battle for position in their respective conferences, the Northwest Conference for ECNL and the Pacific Northwest Conference for GA. Finishing at the top of the conference is a mission every club is looking to accomplish. The stronger the finish in conference play, all but guarantees the top teams more meaningful games and competition when it comes to the National Playoffs and Finals this summer.

Here are six players from the PNW that are earning their stripes and rising up the ranks this ECNL and GA season:

Zoey is a dynamic player who uses speed, footwork and wit to dominate her opponents. Nelson has been making a name for herself for some time with looks at the National ODP and YNT levels. She has a silky-smooth touch and quick release. She moves into space well and has fantastic spatial awareness. Nelson consistently moves the needle from the midfield position. Her abilities to see the passing lanes before the defense is ready is a game changer. This 2024 HS 3A State Champion has a high motor that wears on her opponents and an attacking prowess that is beyond her years. Zoey is an exceptional talent that has eyes to play in the professional ranks. If she keeps progressing at the rate she is, there is no doubt that the opportunity is there for her. Seeing [player_tooltip player_id='274175' first='Zoey' last='Nelson'] on the biggest stages would not surprise me.

Camden is a menacing presence in the midfield. She uses her strength and body positioning well to keep possession. DeWitt has the ability to overpower a GK with powerful shots from distance but has no problem being selfless with quality distributions to teammates. Camden is an attacking minded athlete but possess a defensive skill set that can give a coach options at positioning. This HS All-League player has also been recognized by being selected to participate in the GA PNW Talent ID events. As Camden continues to hone her skills and abilities, she has the potential to be a top player in the 2028 class from Oregon.

Leena is all GO all the time. Her strength is in numbers and when there is a shot window, she rarely allows it to close. Her lateral movements across the top of the box are deadly on defenses and GK's alike. Bristol has a powerful right foot that she continues to develop and a keen awareness of shot placement. Those together make her an attacking asset for her club team. Though she is a natural shooter, her through balls and capabilities of switching the field are also on her list of talents. Leena is making a name for herself as she plays up an age group in the G09 ECNL Northwest Conference.

This 2028 Defender/Midfielder from Idaho has the confidence and drive to compete at the next level. Gracen boasts fantastic body control and change of direction that makes her difficult to defend. She possesses a dominant left foot that makes her presence attacking or defending the left side even more dangerous. Hildebrand is consistently in the mix battling for 50/50 balls that she typically wins with skill and grit. Her speed and quickness are impressive, and she combines that with seasoned ball skills to slice through midfielders and defenders alike. Gracen is an athlete; she can battle at the outside back position or be a very effective attacking minded midfielder. She will no doubt have the opportunity to follow in her older sister's footsteps and play D1 soccer with her continued passion and development of her craft.

Bailey is a defensive powerhouse that gives opposing attackers fits. Milovich has the size and strength to lock down an outside back or winger position and the offensive awareness to make big plays on set pieces. Her aggressive play throughout the pitch gives her an edge that is not only noticeable but tangible. Bailey has great vision for angled crosses from all areas of the pitch and has the touch to place them for offensive success. Milovich is trending towards the top ranks of her class and position and is starting to solidify her ability to play at the next level.

Lola has burst on the scene and is getting the notice she deserves. This G10 ECNL'er and Bellevue HS freshman is stacking her resume early in her career with National ODP roster assignments and High School State title runs. Paget is a potent player that can change outcomes of matches with her pace, aggressiveness and foot skills. Lola is fantastic in counter attacks and has great field vision that allows her to build the attack from a defensive position. Paget and her Eastside FC club are at the top of the table in their conference and are stocked with talent up and down the roster. Lola has star power and has the prospect of being an elite talent in the PNW.
