US Soccer identifies the top talent in Ohio/Indiana

U.S. Soccer is hosting a Talent ID event in Carmel, Indiana on February 5 for the 2009 and 2010 as well as 2011 age groups. This is the third Talent ID event for the Girls in 2025.    Check out a scouting report on some of the players called into the event below.     King is a midfielder/forward on the Ohio Premier 2010 ECNL team. There is quite a bit of positional flexibility to her game. The versatility will shine in this environment as she can be plugged into any role. She has an impressive engine and incredible endurance. She is regularly making full-field runs in the final minutes of games while her opponents legs are tired. She's not a dominant presence on her team. She's not a ball-hog, she shines in her role. King elevates her teammates, which makes her one of the top performers in the 2010 age group.     Bruce is one of the goalkeepers on the Ohio Elite 2010 ECNL team. She is active off her line. She likes to get up up to the six yard box line to cut off angles and shrink the goal for the attacker. With her frame and quick reflexes, the strategy works. She's been successful in shot-stopping with that approach. She's excellent on crosses as well. She has secure hands and strength to control the ball in traffic. She's good with quick distribution from her hands and can launch a throw over 40 yards. Bruce has the traits that shine in the goalkeeper position for a long time.     Mueller is a winger/defender for Indy Premier 2010 GA. She plays on the wing/forward for her club team. I believe she played outside back during the last Talent ID event, which suggest that is where US Soccer scouts view her position for the future. Mueller is right footed, strong on the ball, and plays with a lot of confidence. She's a top talent in the Girls Academy. She had a wonderful start to the season with a number of goals during the first few months of the campaign. She plays at a pace that is difficult for the opposition to match - she always puts defenders on their heels. She's right footed, but she's a very good finisher with her left. Considering her speed and skill on the ball, there's obvious traits for an elite wing back.     Simmons is a midfielder/defender on the Indy Premier 2010 GA team. She played as a right center back at the last US Soccer Talent ID Center and was exceptional in that role. She also has the quality on the ball to step up into the midfield and orchestrate for her team. She recently scored a wonderful goal on a free kick with her right foot. Simmons is a competitor and will shine in any role. Her play at center back suggest she is going to have a bright future in that role.     Brickwood is a two-way midfielder who always has her foot on the gas. The non-stop engine of the Internationals is part of the US Soccer Youth National Team pool in the 2010 age group. She's a fiercely competitive player who is fearless in tackles. Brickwood's energy is easy to notice in every Internationals game, but it's purposeful energy. She's deliberate in her actions and backs it up with skill and creativity. She's a top talent from the 2029 class.     Luecke is a midfielder on the US U15 Women's Youth National Team. She plays defensive midfield and center back for her club team. Luecke is the standard for this event. As the player with Youth National Team call-ups, she will be in the spotlight the most. Her play this season in ECNL has been superb. Smart on the ball, forceful in the tackle, and constantly scanning to help organize her team, Luecke shows the traits of a leader on the field and a player that will be a top talent for years to come.     Sanders is a winger/outside back on the Internationals 2010 ECNL team. She plays in the attack for her club team, but she's played outside back for the youth national team. There's a lot to like about Sanders' game. She has rare ability as a 1v1 attacker to get past defenders with either foot. Her comfort on either foot and close control stand out when compared to her peers. She's going to be a tough player to stop at this event with her skill and elite finishing.
