The 2025 boys High School soccer season is kicking off all around the PNW this week. To get it all started in the south end, the Auburn Riverside Ravens hosted both their cross-town rivals for a jamboree held on the ARHS campus. The Auburn Trojans and Auburn Mountainview Lions were looking to continue last season's winning ways against the Ravens, but Auburn Riverside had other plans.

All three teams played against each other once comprising of 20-minute matches. Just enough time for teams to settle in a bit and flash their promise for the 24/25 season. The Ravens secured the win in both their matches against the Lions and Trojans while Auburn Mountainview picked up one victory versus Auburn. Though closely contested matches, the Auburn Trojans dropped both their contests. These three squads play in the North Puget Sount League (NPSL) with Auburn Riverside and Auburn moving up to the 4A classification this season and Auburn Mountainview staying put in the 3A classification. As we know, the classifications are based on school size and not skill.

These long tenured rivals came to show out and display the skills it will take to compete in the NPSL and battle for 3A/4A League, District and State Titles.

Here are some Top Performers from the rivalry matches and players to keep your eyes on this season:

Veremiy is a physical midfielder that makes his presence known early and often. He has the ability to move touchline to touchline while also leaning towards the attack. Tima is dangerous at the top of the box and is not shy about taking shots on goal if a window is open. He has a strong leg and has the skill to place quality shots. Tima is well sized for corners and is strong in the scrum. He shows his confidence in the midfield by understanding player movements and giving direction when needed. Veremiy has the potential to help lead the Ravens to new heights this season.

Ian has some of the best ball control on the pitch. His ability to distribute accurately throughout the field while being pressured is impressive. Knox-Morris's dribbling skill through traffic is disheartening to his opponents who often look silly attempting to stop him. Ian has fantastic spatial awareness and understands when to hold and when to release the ball to place his teammates in promising attacking positions. Ian will continue to develop and be a young player to follow for Auburn Mountainview for years to come.

Javier is a young GK who has the raw skills to develop into an All-League talent. Armas shows his leadership ability by his vocal presence on the pitch. That can be intimidating for a young GK. Javier can play out of the back with confidence while also being able to push the ball forward if needed. He moves well for his size and has great lateral movements to the ball both low and high. As his footwork improves, so will his coverage and dives. Armas's shot stopping abilities at close range are great and he seems to have a good grasp on his angles. Javier can help Auburn and his Trojans be a defensive force this season. The future is bright with Armas in goal.

Moris makes an immediate impact when the ball is at his feet. His speed amongst his peers was elite and his ball skills are silky smooth as he ripped through the midfield and defense from his own defensive position. He has the ability to take on double teams and easily work through the pressure. Isac has a nice touch on release and great vision for the pitch. Moris is a very talented player that his opponents will have trouble containing. He has the opportunity to be a big part of the Lions success this season.

Aidan is a shifty player who finds himself in opportunistic positions throughout the offensive attack. He is a menace to defenders when he uses the combination of his speed and ball skills to consistently break through the back line. Marcianiak doesn't seem to have an OFF switch and is full send anytime he is on the pitch. He is also a physical player that does not give up on plays. This typically results in winning the ball back after dispossession and successfully transitioning into promising counter attacks. Aidan will be a player to watch as Auburn Riverside navigates the 4A NPSL.

Cameron is a natural defender who has the knowledge and skill to play many positions. He uses his big frame to win possessions and puts his body on the line to make big plays. Milo understands the importance of team and spreads the ball around the pitch to provide advantageous opportunities for his offensive minded teammates. Look for Milo to finish his senior season strong and help the Ravens make a run at multiple titles in 2025.

Sartaj flashes speed in the attack and can break away from defensive lines at will. He is no novice when it comes to taking shots on frame and continues to work on his ability to place difficult shots in the back of the net. Gill uses his body positioning well and understands attacking angles and where to be when the attack is building. He can be a leader up top, and the Trojans will lean on him to combine his speed and scoring abilities to help push Auburn to the top of the league standings.
