GHSA Boys Players of the Week – Week 3

With already 6 goals on the season, the attacking midfielder has been electric, finishing at a high rate. His dribbling techniques near and around the box make him a real danger, as it's too risky often trying to get a foot in and concede a foul. He put on a spectacular outing against the Buford Wolves, notching two goals and an assist in the contest. Damon is a player you want on the ball as much as you can in a game. His confidence on the ball accelerates his game to a different level. His vision was on display in Friday evenings match, finding and playing some splitting through balls onto teammates. His shooting looked good as well, as he had some powerful strikes on goal which helped propel his team to another victory. In their Monday night match, Julian scored 2 goals as a wingback, and in their Thursday evening game he put on a performance, scoring 2 and assisting 3 more as well. The wingback possesses a real attacking threat going forward, making lots of inward and overlapping runs into space to get in behind defenders. His crosses always seem to be tantalizing around the 6 yard box, and he seems to be calm cool and collected when in front of net. Scoring 4 goals in a 5-3 match, Luis was a problem for the Mountain View defense all evening. He is a player you really can't allow any space to, as he can strike it from almost anywhere inside 30 yards. His link up play with his teammates was on display as well, knocking around one touch passes around the defenders. Pass and move into space, something so simple yet not quite done enough at this level.
