Rankings Preview: Risers in Ohio's 2027 Rankings

The Prep Soccer state rankings for Ohio's 2027 class will be updated next week. Prior to the release of the updated rankings, take a look at five of the players who are either new to the rankings or rose up the rankings with this update. Read the scouting report on those players below.    All-American. Forward. Undeniable.    Fresh off a historic high school season, Zawaly is making waves in the club game as well. A forward who can impact the game through the center or out wide, the Ohio Elite standout has the tools to be an immediate impact player in the attack at the next level. She has the height, strength, and pace to dominate the game consistently. She has put on game film at the club and high school level. Zawaly's All-American honors will have the attention of pretty much every scout. She will have her pick of schools when the time comes.      Shot-stopper. Leader. Winner.    The Ohio 2027 class might not have an obvious elite prospect at the goalkeeper position. Our pick for that title would be Trzcinski. She is a bit off the radar (if you are only going based on traditional league metrics), but the game film shows a player who can do it at the position with unlimited potential. She has lightning quick reflexes, strong hands, and good spatial awareness for her goal frame. Trzcinski's play for [program_tooltip program_id='281354' first='GTFC' last='Impact'] has been a major reason for the team's success this season.      Defensive mastermind. Versatile. Unrelenting.    Evans is a defender on the Ohio Elite 09 ECNL team. She can play outside back or center back. She is enjoying a breakout season at the club level. She brings the intensity every game as if a spot on the playoffs is always on the line. She's a 1v1 shutdown defender. It's been the biggest area of improvement in her game in the past year. She utilizes her athleticism and smarts so well. She also offers standout play as a support defender. She is going to be a key player for Ohio Elite in the postseason.      Footwork. Athletic. Determined    Jones is the other riser in the Ohio 2027 rankings among the goalkeepers. The [program_tooltip program_id='281494' first='Ohio' last='Galaxies'] goalkeeper had an outstanding high school season. She's been great during the club campaign as well. Jones is good off her line and her team utilizes her quality on the ball as an outlet for the defense when under pressure. She has excellent technique in ball striking and has scored some goals from distance on free kicks. Jones is a very good shot-stopper as well. The 5-foot-11 frame and quick reflexes show the unlimited potential she has at the goalkeeper position.      Forward. Strong. Potential.    Mwamukonda is a center forward on the Ohio Elite 09 ECNL team. She's previously played at a high level in the Girls Academy as well. She's a traditional center forward. She can play with her back to the goal and hold off defenders with ease. She has been excellent this season in the link-up play for her side. Her quality on the ball has shine with a good first touch and excellent playmaking on the pass. While her play on the ball has been difficult to criticize, it still feels like she is just scratching the surface for her potential. There are times when it feels like she could be dictating the game more off the ball and punishing the mistakes of the opposition. Mwamukonda is a top forward from Ohio and has the potential to be one of the best in the country.
