He intercepts the ball well, has a good read on where an attacker wants to go, and plays with the ball in front. He also excelled in the game when pushing up, with lots of overlapping runs out wide which caused problems for the Greyhounds defense. His quick pace and high stamina allow him to track back and forth on the right side of the pitch throughout the game. A player that can do just about all for his squad.

Mateo is a skillful center mid. He has very crafty footwork, and was able to exploit holes in the Bears defense with his dribbling. His passing was sublime in the game Friday night, notching two assists in the game. His first assist came after beating a defender and releasing the striker in behind the defenders. His second assist was a perfectly accurate through ball that was tapped home. His ability to control the game in the midfield and distribute the ball to open teammates impressed me the most about this rising senior.

Otis is your textbook target man striker. He drops into the midfield often to receive balls at feet instead of running in behind the center backs. He is effective at the target man role due to his great first touches under pressure and his quality passing. Most strikers don't possess the touch and footwork Otis has, allowing him to expand the pitch for his other teammates to get in on goal. He also scored the Greyhounds opening goal of the game with a lovely finish battered home from close range following some link up play. Expect Otis to produce some quality goal contributions throughout the season.

How does scoring the equalizing goal in the dying seconds of a game sound? Did I also mention it was a rocket in the top corner from just outside the box as well? Rafael is a quick winger who makes lots quick turns and cuts, often confusing defenders. With around 30 seconds to go in the game, Rafael cut inside onto his right foot and blasted the late equalizer home for the Bears. Showcasing not only his finishing ability, but also his confidence and poise. It takes a certain type of player to have the confidence to handle the pressure of the moment and execute at a high level. A really talented winger on the ball.

Noah is a confident center midfielder who always plays with his head up. Very calm under pressure, Noah is constantly looking to pick out teammates on runs and keep possession for his squad. He put in some tough challenges and set the tone for his team early one. Noah capped off his performance Friday evening with the Greyhounds second goal of the game, stemming from a forward run into the box that was finished home. A well balanced midfielder who can contribute in more ways than just one.
