Dallas Cup Impressive Girls Goalkeepers

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>One of the largest and most traditional club soccer tournaments of the season, the Dallas Cup was held last week in North Texas, with 450 boys and girls teams competing across five different venues in the area from April 13-20.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:list --> <ul class="wp-block-list"><!-- wp:list-item --> <li><a href="https://prepsoccer.com/2025/04/dallas-cup-day-3-girls-photos/"><strong>Dallas Cup: Day 3 Girls Photos</strong></a></li> <!-- /wp:list-item --></ul> <!-- /wp:list --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Prep Soccer Texas was in attendance, and on Tuesday, April 15, we went to both the Richland College and the Ross Stewart Soccer Complex venues, where we followed many Girls' matches. Despite the result, I thought she had a solid shift between the posts. Dallas were down a player for most of the first half as she got treatment and they had no substitutes, which led to [program_tooltip program_id='283317' first='[program_tooltip program_id='280767' first='DKSC' last='']' last=''] fully dominating the match. Because of that, Short was frequently put to work and avoided that her team conceded more goals. She made a pair of impressive saves in 1v1 situations and also handled well the crosses that went into the box. She was playing a few age groups up, but it didn't feel like it, considering how comfortable she was in goal. With her team trailing for most of the match, Sanchez was somewhat exposed, but she still fared well, making important saves that kept Cosmos in the game. Cosmos pushed hard for an equalizer in the final minutes of the match and Torres stepped up with big saves to preserve her team's victory. She used her long frame well to make saves and was also very brave to come off her line and stop opponents in 1v1 situations. A tall goalkeeper with strong technical skills, she was extremely reliable in goal and played a key role in her team's victory. Medrano handled the long-distance shots that went her way very well, and also stepped up to stop plays that developed inside the box, displaying excellent reflexes to make saves and great positioning to make things difficult for opponents. Their opponents were very productive in the final third and fired several shots on target, but the goalkeeper handled most of them extremely well. Hernandez also displayed impressive mobility to step out of her spot to deal with long passes behind the backline.
