A true sweeper-keeper, Evan is always quick off his line to come out and claim crosses or get a fist on the ball to clear. His quick reflexes make him difficult to get by, as even shots that take deflections rarely get by him. His positioning on the field and his communication with his back-line defenders make the Knights keeper and defense a tough task to score on. A promising young keeper who will continue to develop at a high rate for his upcoming Junior and Senior seasons.

Carson has been a large part of the Yellow Jackets success this season between the posts. Each game I've watched of Sprayberry's this season Carson has made some immaculate diving stops. One thing Carson does exceptionally well is claiming the ball after a shot. I've seen lots of goalies unable to catch a hard-driven strike and parry the ball into an attackers path. Carson never does this, as he makes sure any shot on target is either tipped out for a corner or ends up in his hands. A sign of a confident goalkeeper.

Although he may not be the tallest keeper, Gabriel makes up for it with the effort he puts in each game. A wall in net, Gabriel is an extremely confident keeper than does all the little things right. Positions himself well to make tough saves, has great communication with his team, and frequently makes great claims on ball in the box. His acrobatic abilities are some of the best I have seen, as he can make some superb stops in top corners of the goal. This comes from his good positioning as well, setting his feet towards whichever side a shot is coming from. Another young sophomore keeper that should be on everyone's radar moving forward.

Jackson has been a force in goal for the War Eagles, having multiple clean sheets this season thanks to his efforts in goal. Jackson is another example of your modern day sweeper-keeper who is quick off his line to collect long balls in for opposing attackers. This is another example of good positioning, as he plays high enough to come out and collect but not too high to risk getting chipped over. His communication with his team is very vocal, as you can hear what he is saying from the top of the stands. A true all-around goalie that does it all for his side.

Michael is an exceptional keeper with a tall frame that allows him to make some saves that just don't even seem possible. Out of the few Blessed Trinity games I've seen this year, Michael in each game has made at least one save where I was dumbfounded on how he even managed to reach it. His super quick reflexes and his large frame help him get even just a finger on some shots that seem destined for the top corner.

Every single Gainesville match I've watched the opponents have a hard time finding a way past Marquise. A demoralizing keeper to go up against, the Red Elephants keeper can make some superb stops. One thing about Marquise is he doesn't have a weak area when it comes to making saves. Lots of keeper either struggle with high striker, low driven shots, or one-on-one breakaway situations. Marquise looks sound no matter the shot or situation, making diving stops to his left and right high or low, and does a fantastic job at closing space on attackers when they are on breakaways. A confident Junior keeper who should look even more polished come his senior campaign.

A goalkeeper should be one of the leaders on a successful team. Communication and confidence is crucial for any keeper, along with high level footwork and acrobatic ability. Here are six of the top goalies currently in GHSA that have stood out in each of these areas so far this season.
