Southeast 2027s on the National Radar

Prior to the release of the Prep Soccer 2027 National Rankings, take a look at some of the talent from the Southeast that is attracting attention from a national level with scouts.     This has already been quite the year for Soldano. She was selected to Girls Academy Generation Adidas All-Star team for the event in Florida. She earned the right to wear the captain's armband for her team during the event, and won Player of the Match as well. Soldano was also named All-State in South Carolina as a sophomore. The accolades are stacking up for the [program_tooltip program_id='288071' first='South' last='Carolina Surf'] star.    She is a midfielder/defender. She's either a defensive midfielder or a center back. She plays left center back mainly for her club team. The aspect of Soldano's game that stands out compared to her peers is how she progresses the ball up the field. She is great at using different lengths of touches to dribble past defenders.    Soldano is a physical defender who is great at winning the aerial duel and anticipating when to step in front of her mark. Soldano is also a weapon on set piece thanks to her ability to win the header in traffic.    There is a lot to like about her game especially from the perspective of being an impactful player all over the field.      Cence is listed at 5-foot-3 on her player profile, but she plays much bigger on the field. She is a midfielder/defender on the [program_tooltip program_id='288071' first='South' last='Carolina Surf'] 09 GA team. She played mainly in the midfield during the recent Girls Academy event.    Cence is remarkably strong on the ball. She also has quick feet and always seems to come away with the ball when getting into a duel. There are times when she takes an extra touch, but she does well in continuously evaluating options and still retaining possession for her side.    Cence is a scrappy midfielder who thrives in competition. She has been a standout from the Girls Academy.      Wakatsuki is a rare talent in that she has played for both the Japan and US Youth National Teams. That type of international pedigree is incredibly uncommon and makes her a top target in this class.    The ECNL game film shows a player with top level potential. She can play as an outside back (right back) or defensive midfielder. She is a top prospect in either role. Her play as an outside back is probably where most of the scouting will be for her among college coaches. She is a tidy player on the ball with a great first touch. The aspect of her game that stands out the most among her peers is her organization. She is vocal in helping her teammates with where the marks are going and who should pick up whom.    Wakatsuki is going to be a highly regarded recruit in this class. The international experience, high level ECNL play, and absurdly high GPA all combines for the ideal recruit for many schools.      Langan is a captain of the [program_tooltip program_id='283501' first='Tennessee' last='Soccer Club'] 09 ECNL team. She is listed as a defender/forward. She is left-footed.    Langan is an ideal fit as a wingback, but she can play a number of spots on the field. She also stands out from game film for what she can offer during dead ball situations. She takes free kicks for her team at times - she has excellent ball-striking technique. She also has a flip throw that launches the ball easily into the 18-yard box.    She has pace and endurance to make the full field runs throughout the whole game. The Orlando City standout has been banging in goals all season in the ECNL. She is part of the ODP National Team and has been called in US Soccer Talent ID events in the past.    Muchuruza can play as a forward or attacking midfielder. She is right footed, but she scored some truly spectacular goals with her left foot as well. She plays for a few different club teams. She's played for [program_tooltip program_id='283348' first='Florida' last='Elite'] SA in the ECNL at the most recent event.    Heaton is an uber-competitive player. She plays as a center back and takes on the role of being the last line of defense. She is fearless in the tackle and leaves an impact on the field.    She has good foot skills and can dribble out of pressure. She isn't the tallest player in this class, but she uses her size well. Her defensive instincts stack up with the best in Florida in this class.      Wooten is a goalkeeper on the [program_tooltip program_id='283483' first='South' last='Carolina United'] 08 ECNL. She is also part of the ODP South Regional Team. She is five-foot-eight and athletic.    Wooten is a top goalkeeper from the South in this class. She has a lot of strengths in her game, but the best aspect is her movement prior to the shot. She moves her feet well side to side and gets her body behind the shot. She doesn't give up many goals due to lunging for the ball. She gets a lot of blocks or tips onto saves. She's impressed this season with her game-deciding saves and improvement on handling crosses in traffic.
