Week 1 Triad Area Preseason Best Performers

With the restructuring of the NCHSAA school classifications, both this season for the boys and the following one for the girls will be focused on metro areas rather than divisions. Once the regular season begins, the categorization of the teams will be more precise. In this article, the focus will be on the Triad region. With plenty of schools, the area is chock-full of talent. Active and energetic, he doesn't allow the opposing defenders to catch a break. He loves to press high, forcing the opposition to act fast and rarely effectively. When it comes to duels, he'll fight until the very end, even if he loses them. In the final third, while his team is in possession, he looks where he needs to be to get opportunities. Whether it be a loose ball, a pass into the box, or a defensive mistake, he will pounce on it swiftly. His movement into spaces is fantastic, demonstrating his intelligence and desire to get into prime positions. He's also fast, making it difficult for defenders to keep up with him once he breezes past them. When he needs to be, he is also aggressive, not allowing the opposition to build out from the back calmly. It's also a visible trait when his team loses the ball, oftentimes being the first one to try to get it back. In the box, he's extremely confident. He knows where to position himself and knows how to beat the keeper. His control in tight spaces is very good, getting the better of his marker with ease. If he loses possession, he has no problems going in for tackles to regain it. When he's in possession, he's always looking to progress play. His vision is fantastic, finding passing lanes even in marginal spaces. One of his very welcome attributes is how much he loves shooting from range. A player with a noticeably fiery personality, he shows how passionate he is about playing soccer. He can control the attitude of everyone present at the ground with both his personality and his skill. The most aggressive player I've seen so far, he loves to assert himself. If he loses the ball, he will chase down the defender and dispossess them strongly. His technique and skill, on the other hand, are unreal. Embarassing defenders is second nature to him as he loves to take them on and leave them behind. Near the box, he shows how great his finishing is, finding the net with ease.
