Rosters Announced for ECNL Florida NSG

On Monday, ECNL announced the rosters for the Continental Tire National Selection Game at the ECNL National Event in Florida, which kicks off on Saturday from Lakewood Ranch, Florida. Check out the scouting report on some of the talent incluced in this roster below and the full roster at the bottom of the page.    Taft was one of the stars of ECNL Florida last season. The versatile LV Heat Surf player has yet to make a verbal commitment. She is one of four on Team East from the 2027 class who has not committed heading into the game. I would expect that to change in the near future. She's a five-foot-seven center back who can do it all. She's excellent on the ball and can beat the press off the dribble. She plays with her head up and does well progressing up the field with the ball at her feet while still keeping an eye on her teammates runs off the ball to play a slip pass to open up chances for her team. She's had previous experience playing other positions and can adapt to any role needed. She's raised her level this season and helped her team to sixth place in the standings in the Southwest Conference, which is club best heading into 2026.   Taft has the physical profile, soccer smarts, and competitive drive to be a key player at the college level. She should shine in this all-star game.     Alkurdi is a center back on the East Meadow 09 ECNL team. She is five-foot-11, right footed. She can play either right or left center back. The best part about Alkurdi's game is that she plays to her strengths. She knows what she is good at, and she does that about as well as anyone in the country.   Alkurdi is a target on set pieces considering her ability to win aerial duels. She scores off corner kicks with her positioning and timing on her headers. She also saves goals for similar reasons. She is a massive asset to her club team in that regard.   She's a physical defender. She has strength and long legs. She does well at timing her tackles and bumping the forward off balance. She can match-up against any type of attacking talent because she is a clever defender with a bunch of tricks for how to slow down the opposition.   From game film, there isn't a ton of highlights from her passing or breaking the press off the dribble, but she rarely makes a mistake or forces a pass. She's careful with possession and sets her teammates up for success with her approach.   Alkurdi could thrive in the All-Star game if she is able to join the attack on the set pieces and shine with that side of her game. She could also have a quiet game, but in this instance a quiet game should be pretty impressive considering the attacking talent on the other team and the quality of player she will be tasked to go against. Scouts would be wise to play close attention to the East Meadow defender in this blockbuster bout.     Campbell is a midfielder on the Washington Premier ECNL 09 team. She can play as the No. 6 or the No. 8. Campbell is a high-activity player who is buzzing over the field and looking for opportunities to make an impact. She is at her best when the ball is at her feet and she can improvise. She's a playmaker in the center of the field. She is unpredictable in the best way. She sees passes that are not obvious even from game film. There is quite a bit of entertainment in watching her play as the playmaking qualities shine especially when she is able to pick off a pass or win a duel in the center of the pitch.   Campbell has been part of the Washington ODP in the past. She's also been into US Soccer Talent ID events.     Sophie van Marcke de Lummen is a defender on the Orlando City 2008 ECNL team. She is a multi-sport athlete and plays Lacrosse at a high level. She is a right-footed center back. She can probably play on the outside of the defense as well. Many of her highlight moments this season has been her play at left center back.   She's an exceptional passer, great athlete, and fearless tackler. The Orlando City defender has been outstanding this season in the ECNL. She's been picking apart the opposition with her passing and vision. She's perhaps a bit one-foot dominant, but it can work for her as she pings the ball into windows and sets her teammates free into space.   She's strong on the ball and uses her body well in duels. She's excellent at keeping players off the ball once she has it under her control. The cross-sport competitiveness is certainly there as there is an aggressiveness to her play when she jumps into the tackle.   van Marcke de Lummen has been a bright spot this season in the ECNL Southeast Conference and this game could be arrival at the national level with her stellar play at center back.     Howes is a forward on the Utah Avalanche 09 ECNL team. She can play in the center of the attack, wing, or attacking midfield. She's right-footed and five-foot-seven.   Howes is one of two 2027 forwards who are not committed taking part in this game. The Avalanche standout offers quite a bit of quality to her game that suggests she will have a role at a top program at the next level.   She is shockingly strong on the ball. Defenders seem to just bounce off of her. She can play with her back to the goal and hold off players at will. She's been excellent in the hold-up play when she is deployed as a center forward.   The best aspect of her game though is defensively. She's a weapon in the press. She's a tenacious defender who is willing to lay her body out on the line to create a chance for her team. She's also had some slide tackles that were cleaner than most defenders can pull off.   Howes brings a lot to the table with her versatility and tenacious play. She could have some key moments in the game on Saturday.     Perhaps a surprise name on this roster, Stanley is a top recruit from Alabama and gets the chance to show her quality against the Best of the Best from the ECNL. She lives over five hours away from the nearest ECNL club. Stanley plays for Florida Roots in the WPSL too.   She can play any spot in the attack. I think she's been the most dominant and effective at right wing. She's equally comfortable with the ball on either foot, which presents a match-up dilemma for outside backs. She can set them up to go to the end line for a cross, but cut on a dime to the inside and get a shot off if the opportunity opens up when the defenders plays too hard to one side. Stanley is a top-tier finisher on either foot.   This is the perfect platform for her to show out against college commits. Stanley will be one of the players all scouts are eager to see.    The Continental Tire ECNL National Selection Games are "all-star" matches that bring top players at each regular season ECNL National Event together for representative competition on the first day of the event. They are one component of the ECNL National Selection Program, which encompasses all player identification and development programs within the league.    Players were selected for the games by ECNL Player Identification staff through a combination of scouting and recommendations based on performances over the past several months. These athletes will not compete for their clubs on this day in order to properly rest and prepare for the National Selection Game.
