Who's Who Among the Girls 2029 Class: Washington State

The Washington State girl's freshman class was elite during the high school season, and they are rolling into the club season with that same fire. These ladies have a few years before recruiting is on their minds 24/7 but it is never too early to get your name out there and grind! College coaches are not only going to be looking at skills (that's a given), but they are going to be focused on how good a teammate you are, how do you lock in during warmups, your interaction with coaches and parents and most importantly, how do YOU overcome adversity?! If you can focus on these attributes now, you will be well on your way to being a recruitable athlete when that time comes!   Here are six athletes from the 2029 class you MUST keep your eyes on:    Berry made a splash in the fall for the Sumner Spartans as a varsity freshman. She is wicked fast and can beat you on the edge with a smoothness you don't see often. She swings a powerful leg and puts shots on frame early and often. Her 1v1 game is elite. Sydney is wonderful with the ball at her feet and has a plethora of skill moves that break ankles and beat defenders. Her size and strength intimidate opponents and causes a mismatch on the pitch every weekend. [player_tooltip player_id='281242' first='Sydney' last='Berry'] is name to remember in the class of 2029.     Maggie is a dominate defender who seeks contact and wins 50/50 balls at a high percentage. She locks down the center back position but could play at any defensive spot. Peters possesses a quick ball release under pressure and locates open space and players to build effective counter attacks. Maggie has been piling up the accolades, receiving All-Conference nods in both the ECNL and High School. Peters is just getting warmed up. If she keeps up this pace, you will be seeing her playing at the next level on Thursdays and Sundays in college.     Dolan is a shutdown defender on a dominant XF Academy team. She sets the tone on the back line and doesn't give an inch to attacking opponents. Not only is she physical on the ball and encourages contact, but she also demonstrates smooth and silky foot skills, even in dangerous parts of the pitch. This shows a confidence in her abilities to control the outcome when the ball is at her feet. Charli is an athlete to watch in the 2029 class and has all the talent to be at the top of her class when college recruiting is in full swing.     Charlotte possesses a unique ability to see small open lanes and thread fantastic passes to her attacking forwards that consistently end in scoring opportunities. Wyckoff is a physical midfielder that also has some offensive prowess. She can rip shots from the top of the box or draw double teams to open up teammates. When in defensive positions, she controls her area and is relentless to the ball. Look for Charlotte to continue to grow into a dominant player on the pitch.     Considered amongst the top forwards in the country, Riley brings it every match. Her ability to gain separation with speed and skill moves is almost automatic. Rountree may light up the scoreboard with beautifully placed shots or fill the scorecard with assists, that is the type of well rounded athlete she is. Her spatial awareness is first class, and her weighted passes are highly calculated. Between the USYNT call ups and the ECNL's highest honors, Rountree has a bright future! Riley is fun to watch, and collegiate coaches will be lining the touchlines to observe her greatness as the seasons continue.     Jordynn is a talented defensive minded player who has great vision and awareness of the pitch. She has exceptional movement in space and knows when to release the ball at opportune times. Koria is aggressive and works to be first to ball at all times. Jordynn is also not shy if she gets an opportunity to take a shot on frame either. Her Samoa Women's National Team call ups are a testament to her talent and also gives her the experience to be one of the top players in the PNW.
