Before the Drop: 2009 Prospects Surging in CA’s 2028 Class

The Prep Soccer state rankings for California 2028 class will be updated this week. Prior to the release of the rankings, check out a scouting report on some of the players from the 2009 age group who have jumped into the rankings (or moved up in the rankings with this update).    Forrester is a forward/midfielder from the [program_tooltip program_id='283476' first='Slammers' last='FC'] HB Koge 2009 ECNL. She can play in a variety of roles: center forward, support striker, winger, attacking midfielder. She's a starter for the talented Slammers squad. She is an efficient finisher. She is great at getting her head up before taking the shot and finding where the goalkeeper is in order to place the shot in an unstoppable spot. She is a smart player who seems to always be fully engaged in the game and working to create chances. Forrester has been a standout at the top level of the club game thanks to the tactical smarts as well as the efficiency in the final third.     Gutierrez is an outside back on the [program_tooltip program_id='283646' first='FC' last='[program_tooltip program_id='283257' first='Bay' last='Area Surf']'] 09 ECNL team. She is an ferocious 1v1 defender. She's quick to get into the duel and does well standing up the attacker. She looks like she could play either side of the formation, but her home seems to be right back. Gutierrez was a standout during the recent event in Phoenix as [program_tooltip program_id='283646' first='FC' last='[program_tooltip program_id='283257' first='Bay' last='Area Surf']'] was a top team from the event with three stellar results.     Anglin is a defender/wingback on the Rebels 09 ECNL team. This is her first season in the ECNL. She previously played for East County Surf Soccer Club Elite 64. She is five-foot-10, athletic, and high energy. Anglin is a fascinating prospect from a number of reasons. She's been a key contributor for a team that has struggled to get results this season. That said, evaluating her game on an individual level there are plenty of signs to suggest a top level college starter is there. She's got the physical profile and determination to shine in a competitive environment. She's quick and physical defensively. She has the endurance for the full field runs. Anglin is the type of player who will shine in ID camp environments as her intangibles are impossible to ignore.       Double-digit goal-scorer in two high school varsity seasons. All-CIF selection as a freshman. Starter for the [program_tooltip program_id='283476' first='Slammers' last='FC'] HB Koge 2009 team. Also plays flag football as well as runs multiple events in track (100, 800, 4x400).    Fukuda is a field-stretcher at forward. She can push the defense and play off the shoulder off the last line. She is a better option as a forward to utilize with an attacking midfield that provides a lot of service to the feet and into the path of the forward. Fukuda has certainly benefited from the talented Slammers Koge midfield. She's earned those opportunities with the effort she puts in as the first line of defense for her side.
