Featuring multiple MLS academies, the 2026 edition of the Dallas Cup had a special event on Tuesday, hosting a College Showcase for uncommitted prospects of three of them.

Players from hosts [program_tooltip program_id='283648' first='FC' last='Dallas'], the Philadelphia Union and Real Salt Lake combined to form two 11v11 squads and competed in a 90-minute friendly in front of college scouts who were attending the event in North Texas.

MLS College Showcase - Photos

https://twitter.com/RSLAcademy/status/2039347637263200372?s=20

Players were split into white and red uniforms, and the team in red won 3-1. Five [program_tooltip program_id='283648' first='FC' last='Dallas'] players took part in the event, and here's how each of them did:

Odom played for the red team and was one of the pillars of their backline. He started the match playing as a left-sided center back and was very solid defensively, winning physical duels and showing great mobility to cover space in the backline. Odom was very good at defending the penalty box and showed great footwork when dragged outside of it. He moved to left back in the second half and supported the team's buildup, while also pushing forward and combining with the team's left winger on some occasions.

Rosales came in after the halftime break and helped the red team triumph in the second half. He played as a false nine, dropping back and moving to the flanks to get on the ball. Rosales didn't always get the ball in a good condition, but when he managed to control it, he did good things offensively, using his skilled left foot to beat opponents off the dribble and deliver accurate passes. The forward assisted in his team's second goal, playing an excellent pass behind the backline.

Rodriguez was one of the standouts in the white team. A box-to-box midfielder, he was very active on the ball, consistently supporting the team's offense with his excellent vision and distribution. He had his best moment in the match during the first half, when he repeatedly pushed forward down the left side and delivered accurate passes behind the backline, also firing a dangerous shot on goal. Rodriguez was also very active defensively, competing hard and helping his team occupy the center of the field.

Razo was also part of the white team and delivered high-intensity play in the center of the field. Playing as a defensive midfielder, he covered a lot of ground and managed to win the ball on multiple occasions. Razo also had a big role in the team's buildup, managing to break the opponents' press by getting the ball from the center backs, delivering it to the outside backs and immediately moving to an open spot to get it back. He almost scored a goal early in the second half, winning the ball around the midfield line, driving it forward and firing a shot that went just a few inches too high.

Hart lined up on the left side of the white team's offense and didn't get much service there. The winger often got on the ball with his back to the goal and under pressure and had to play it back. On the few occasions he managed to face the goal, Hart did well, beating opponents off the dribble and attempting creative passes. In the second half, he circulated more around the field to try to get more involved, but often got the ball way too far from the penalty box and couldn't make a big impact.
