ECNL North Carolina: Texas Midfielders Who Will Control the Game

<p>The 2025-2026 club soccer season is almost over, but teams competing in the ECNL Girls League still have one more national tournament in their schedules before the Finals.</p>   <p>This weekend, between Saturday and Monday, clubs from all over the country will head to Greensboro, North Carolina, as the city is set to welcome teams in the U15, U16 and U17 age groups for three days of action in the Bryan Park Soccer Complex.</p>   <p>As many as 200 teams will make the trip to North Carolina and 12 of them will be representing the state of Texas, with [program_tooltip program_id='283243' first='Albion' last='Hurricanes FC'], [program_tooltip program_id='283282' first='Challenge' last='SC'], [program_tooltip program_id='283296' first='Classics' last='Elite'], [program_tooltip program_id='283497' first='Sting' last='Austin'] and Sting Black all sending multiple teams to compete in the final event of the season.</p>   <p>Some really talented players are part of these teams, and we'll take the week leading up to the event to feature them. These midfielders have the ability to dictate the pace of the game:</p>    <p class="text-gray-700">Hutchinson plays for the [program_tooltip program_id='283243' first='Albion' last='Hurricanes FC'] G09 team that will have Fairfax VA Union, Bethesda SC and Pateadores as opponents in the showcase.m Her presence in the midfield makes the team's playing system, as she gives them a lot of stability with her strong play on both sides of the ball. Hutchinson is a tenacious defender who combines impressive energy to work off the ball and a very high soccer IQ to tackle opponents. A technical and resourceful midfielder, she makes an impact in their playmaking with her clean and intelligent game. Lopez does a good job of getting involved in her team's attacking plays and is very calm and composed on the ball, consistently finding good solutions. A versatile and well-rounded midfielder, she dominates the center of the field and takes charge of most of the team's attacking plays. Gomez is very active and is consistently dangerous with her runs on the ball, progressing it through the center of the field and the wings. She also has superior passing vision and contributes defensively, showing good effort to fight for the ball.</p>      <p class="text-gray-700">Lee will guide Sting Black G11 in their matches against GSA, Penn Fusion SA and FC Prime in North Carolina. Extremely technical and creative, she's a handful for opposing defenders because of her quick thinking, which always gets her one step ahead of everyone else. When the ball gets to Lee, she's already scanned the field and decided what to do, leaving little time for opponents to react and adjust.
