<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The boys' class of 2028 in both eastern and western North Carolina has some interesting talents. This list is different than other ones for previous classes because of the reduced pool of players in each region. I've combined both regions into one list so that we can see what each has to offer. Choosing only outfielders is done for the same reason. The list of 16 players has 6 defenders, 5 midfielders, and attackers. Because this list combines two regions, the highlighted players are one per region per position. The highlighted players all belong to clubs, which makes it easier to differentiate who belongs to what region. [program_tooltip program_id='283526' first='Wilmington' last='Hammerheads'] is in eastern North Carolina, and [program_tooltip program_id='280390' first='Highland' last='FC'] is in western North Carolina. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>A future list for the girls' class of 2028 will follow the same layout.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:heading --> <h2 class="wp-block-heading">Defenders</h2> <!-- /wp:heading --> <!-- wp:table {"className":"is-style-stripes"} --> <figure class="wp-block-table is-style-stripes"><table class="has-fixed-layout"><tbody><tr><td><strong>Name</strong></td><td><strong>School</strong></td><td><strong>Club</strong></td></tr><tr><td>Kai Houck</td><td>Hoggard High School</td><td>-</td></tr><tr><td>Noah Willoughby</td><td>Ashley High School</td><td>[program_tooltip program_id='283526' first='Wilmington' last='Hammerheads']</td></tr><tr><td><em>Trey Ragan</em></td><td><em>Cape Fear Academy</em></td><td><em>[program_tooltip program_id='283526' first='Wilmington' last='Hammerheads']</em></td></tr><tr><td>Levi Ramey</td><td>Asheville High School</td><td>[program_tooltip program_id='280390' first='Highland' last='FC']</td></tr><tr><td>Boone Ferguson</td><td>Owen High School</td><td>[program_tooltip program_id='280390' first='Highland' last='FC']</td></tr><tr><td><em>Lucca DeGennaro</em></td><td><em>Asheville School</em></td><td><em>[program_tooltip program_id='280390' first='Highland' last='FC']</em></td></tr></tbody></table></figure> <!-- /wp:table --> <!-- wp:heading --> <h2 class="wp-block-heading">Midfielders</h2> <!-- /wp:heading --> <!-- wp:table {"className":"is-style-stripes"} --> <figure class="wp-block-table is-style-stripes"><table class="has-fixed-layout"><tbody><tr><td><strong>Name</strong></td><td><strong>School</strong></td><td><strong>Club</strong></td></tr><tr><td><em>[player_tooltip player_id='278247' first='Harrison' last='Dyer']</em></td><td><em>Hoggard High Schoo</em>l</td><td><em>[program_tooltip program_id='283526' first='Wilmington' last='Hammerheads']</em></td></tr><tr><td>Jhianni Fowler</td><td>White Oak High School</td><td>[program_tooltip program_id='283526' first='Wilmington' last='Hammerheads']</td></tr><tr><td>Roman Watkins</td><td>Ashley High School</td><td>[program_tooltip program_id='283526' first='Wilmington' last='Hammerheads']</td></tr><tr><td><em>Gates Stone</em></td><td><em>Franklin School Of Innovation</em></td><td><em>[program_tooltip program_id='280390' first='Highland' last='FC']</em></td></tr><tr><td>Lachlan Douglas</td><td>Christ School</td><td>[program_tooltip program_id='280390' first='Highland' last='FC']</td></tr></tbody></table></figure> <!-- /wp:table --> <!-- wp:heading --> <h2 class="wp-block-heading">Attackers</h2> <!-- /wp:heading --> <!-- wp:table {"className":"is-style-stripes"} --> <figure class="wp-block-table is-style-stripes"><table class="has-fixed-layout"><tbody><tr><td><strong>Name</strong></td><td><strong>School</strong></td><td><strong>Club</strong></td></tr><tr><td>Nolan Chavers</td><td>Laney High School</td><td>[program_tooltip program_id='283526' first='Wilmington' last='Hammerheads']</td></tr><tr><td>Ethan Gatt</td><td>Cape Fear Academy</td><td>-</td></tr><tr><td><em>Cole Drown</em></td><td><em>Northside - Jacksonville High School</em></td><td><em>[program_tooltip program_id='283526' first='Wilmington' last='Hammerheads']</em></td></tr><tr><td>Oliver King</td><td>Christ School</td><td>[program_tooltip program_id='280390' first='Highland' last='FC']</td></tr><tr><td><em>Simon Kovbanyuk</em></td><td><em>Enka High School</em></td><td><em>[program_tooltip program_id='280390' first='Highland' last='FC']</em></td></tr></tbody></table></figure> <!-- /wp:table -->

The boys' class of 2028 in both eastern and western North Carolina has some interesting talents. Because this list combines two regions, the highlighted players are one per region per position. The highlighted players all belong to clubs, which makes it easier to differentiate who belongs to what region. Wilmington Hammerheads is in eastern North Carolina, and Highland FC is in western North Carolina.
