ECNL North Carolina Day 3 Standouts

Another fantastic day and ECNL concluded their last event before playoffs in amazing style. The soccer God's were smiling on us today with the weather app saying it would get to around 84 degrees but then the clouds rolled in and cooled everything and everyone down. It was an amazing last day and their were some top performances from around the complex. Here are some players who caught my eye from today's matches.    Quite possibly the best performer I saw all weekend. Macaulay scored two goals in a 2-1 win over Challenge the second of which was the best goal I saw all weekend. She beat two players just inside the final third with some nifty footwork and then ripped a shot right into the top corner over a diving goalkeeper. Showing her exquisite finesse and power all in one play. She has everything to be a force at the next level the speed, the size, the athleticism, technical brilliance, creativity and no fear to try audacious things. What a player and what a future this young lady has.     Joanis saved her side by clearing a ball of the line to secure the 2-1 win for So Cal Blues. She had a solid showing connecting passes and pushing into midfield with the ball. She won a lot of headers and had excellent timing on her tackles. The weight of her passes were good and she organized the backline well.     Grex was great in-between the lines and showed excellent technique under pressure for the Royals against [program_tooltip program_id='283667' first='Jacksonville' last='FC'] in a 1-1 tie. She flashed great footwork in tight spaces and played efficiently. Rarely took more than 2 touches the ball was in to her and then it was out.     Had a great performance for Mustang against [program_tooltip program_id='283350' first='Florida' last='Premier']. She is a tier 1 athlete super fast and powerful. She set up mustangs first goal with a great run to the line and delivering a good cross to her teammate who needed two attempts to score. Stout then got on the end of a cross to make it 3-1 for Mustang towards the end of the game. She will have a ton of interest come June 15th.     The MVLA winger had an amazing weekend topping it off with two goals today against Charlotte SA. She is such a powerful athlete and being on this MVLA team has really improved her tactical awareness. There is always room on a Power 4 roster for a player who can beat defenders one on one and deliver an end product consistently and John-Baptiste does just that.     Big time midfielder from Concorde Fire. Excellent profile and a top tier destroyer of opposition play. Good on the ball as well and a big time leader. She really embraces contact and must put a lot of fear in attacking midfielders she's going against. Possesses a really high motor and excellent on the half turn.     Nacelli put in a big time shift against Western New York Flash in a 3-1 win. She's so good with her back to goal and super aggressive. Loves a physical battle and can shoot with both feet. She got a lovely assist and scored the best PK I have seen in a while, that no goalkeeper in the world male or female would have saved.     Pfeiffer scored the game winner for Slammers HBK against Western New York Flash showing excellent instincts inside the box on an opportunistic rebound. She also won a penalty at the end of the game showing excellent IQ putting herself in between the ball and the rushing goalkeeper knowing her momentum would take her out. She is so tecky and finds gaps in defenses exceptionally well.     Reeder scored the first goal on a lovely team move that she started 6 passes before and ended it with a good finish low to the keepers left. She has good technique and fantastic vision. Her passing is her best attribute she keeps it simple and always seems to know where her teammates want the ball.     Has an excellent partnership with Reeder in midfield for this Penn Fusion side. She was the engine that drove her team to a 2-1 win against Michigan Hawks. Like any great box to box midfielder Hanson got it done on both ends. She won balls in midfield, tracked her runners and flew around defensively. Offensively she kept possession well, always made herself available and has a very consistent first touch. Big time baller.     Safe to say that this Penn Fusion side has one of the best midfield's in the country. They understand each other well and cover for one another like seasoned pros. Ohm is a big time player who is a little more offensive then the other two and flashes impressive creativity. She has all the moves and has absolute command of the ball when it's at her feet. She will be highly sought after come June 15th.     Malloy has elite athleticism and an excellent profile to be a top goalkeeper at the next level. She redeemed herself after fouling a Sporting Jax player in the box by saving the ensuing penalty in excellent fashion. Her distribution is very good and she claims balls out of the air comfortably.     She got an excellent assist, played a plethora of different positions and was instrumental for her MVLA side on their way to a 3-1 win against Sporting Jax. She is so smooth on the half turn and like many MVLA talents has a very high soccer IQ. Her ability to find pockets of space in oppositions defense is uncanny and her capacity to break lines is top notch.     I was really impressed by Davis in this game against MVLA. She made a ton of interceptions and got stuck in early & often throughout this game. High competitive motor and extremely physical player who can bomb forward in attack just as well as she can lock down the opposition winger. Won a ton of ground duels and rose up to win a lot of headers.     Very refined technically and always looking to advance the ball forward towards goal. She played a number of pressure relieving through balls to her strikers. Strong athlete who scraps and claws on the defensive end. Playing against the defending ECNL National Champions is no easy task and Aguayo seemed to relish the opportunity and made the most of her time on the ball.
