Gatorade Player of the Year: Southeast HS Soccer Standouts

Earning Gatorade Player of the Year honors stands as one of the most prestigious achievements for any high school soccer player. Recently, Gatorade announced its winners for the 2025-2026 season. Notably, the Southeast region showcased an exceptionally strong and talented group throughout the year, consistently impressing with the depth of talent on display. Below are a few standout Gatorade Players of the Year from the Southeast.    Jahns is a true hybrid player, excelling on both ends of the pitch, a rare quality for a defender. This season, after watching her in multiple matches, it was clear that her attacking mindset sets her apart. Her exceptional speed down the flank, combined with impressive technical ability, consistently stood out. Time and again, Jahns would drive down the line, cut in with sharp changes of direction, and find the back of the net. As a result, she finished as Lake Mary's top goal scorer and earned the prestigious title of Gatorade Player of the Year in the state of Florida. The Florida Atlantic University commit concluded her junior season with an outstanding 24 goals, 11 assists, and 17 shutouts. Making her one of the few juniors to achieve this honor.     Snow will take her talents to BYU. Her vision and technical understanding of how to get free from defenders is impressive. She can finish in a variety of ways, which made her a standout player in the state of Georgia. Snow ended the season with 25 goals and 9 assists. She finished her high school career with 66 goals and 39 assists.     Morrell capped an already accomplished season by earning Gatorade Player of the Year honors in Virginia. Notably, she represents the USYNT and helped the U-17 team qualify for the U-17 World Cup. During the Continental Showcase game in North Carolina, she stood out for her composure and skill. Throughout the year, Morrell consistently displayed her talent, technical skill, and tactical awareness. She closed her high school season with 16 goals, 8 assists, and five multi-goal games for Paul VI High.     The North Carolina keeper, recently named Gatorade Player of the Year, delivered an exceptional season from start to finish. Throughout the campaign, she recorded 121 saves on 128 shots faced. Resulting in a remarkable 94.5% save percentage and 17 shutouts. Additionally, she showcased her versatility by scoring three goals of her own. Her consistent impact on both ends of the field highlights why she stands out as a top prospect in her class.     As South Carolina's Gatorade Player of the Year, the senior midfielder guided the Landsharks to a 17-2 record and a Class AAA state championship this season. Notably, Petry became the first Landshark in any sport to receive this prestigious award. She tallied 27 goals and contributed 21 assists. Consistently demonstrating her ability as both a prolific scorer and a creative playmaker. Looking ahead, Petry will take her talents to Maryland, where her dynamic attacking attributes will continue to develop in the competitive college environment.
