Sting Black ECNL G13 Defeats Legends FC 2-1 to Reach Final

Sting Black have earned their place in the ECNL Final. They advance after defeating Legends FC 2-1 in a hard-fought semifinal. The first half was mostly played in the middle third. Both teams were defending well and trying to have consistent build-up play. While Legends FC were able to have better opportunities early, neither team could find the opening goal before the second half.   The second half had a strong start for Sting Black. They increased the tempo with an aggressive press and early attempts in the attacking third. They were rewarded when they were able to convert on an early corner, making it 1-0. Their advantage doubled after Jolyn Harper picked out Mary Driskell with a precise pass, allowing a composed finish. Legends FC responded through a goal of their own. They were able to capitalize on a rebound, setting up a strong finish.   Sting Black did well to defend the final minutes. They were able to secure the 2-1 win and advance to the ECNL Final. She is a hardworking and strong individual that doesn't slow up for a moment throughout a match. During this match, Reyes had a good performance and showcased her strengths from the early moments in this match.   In possession, Sophia has great movement and is constantly showing as an option to get on the ball. Her passes are accurate and are more often forward. She had good body shape and made good decisions with the ball.   Defensively, Reyes recovers well for others and shows to be a problem solver. She does well to scan the field and be aware of where opponents are. She does well to help organize and is strong into tackles. Overall, Sophia Reyes is a strong midfielder that has a positive impact on both sides of the ball.     Jolyn Harper plays as a forward for Sting Black ECNL G13. She had a great performance during this match, just as she has played throughout the playoffs so far. Her pace, creativity, and awareness were shown in this match, displaying her importance in the attacking half.   On the ball, Harper is clever and creative. She does well to create space for herself and find open gaps to take her chance on goal. Jolyn displayed that she can recognize when to pass the ball, having made the assist to the game winning goal.   Defensively, Harper is strong and doesn't shy away from tackles. She can high press and does well to be patient and cut passes out to the midfield. Ultimately, Jolyn Harper has shown throughout the playoffs to be a strong attacking player for Sting Black and her decision making in the second half lead to the game winning goal.     Ainsley Mccarthy plays as a defender for Sting Black ECNL G13. She is a tall, strong, and consistent center back. During this match, Mccarthy had a good performance and helped her team secure the win.   On the ball, Ainsley made accurate passes and smart decisions. She did well to show at an angle and support those around her. Notably she took most of the free kicks and displayed that she can play to a target.   Defensively, Mccarthy is a difficult defender to play against. She is strong into challenges and is touch tight to opponents, not allowing for easy turns. She connected with the back line and does well to prevent opponents from easy chances in the defensive third. Ultimately, Ainsley Mccarthy is an important piece for Sting Black and has a positive impact when she's on the pitch.    <h3 class="wp-block-heading">Legends FC ECNL G13</h3>    Meah Torres plays as a forward for Legends FC ECNL G13. Despite the result, she had a strong performance. Torres showcased her pace, creativity, and work rate while she was on the pitch.   In possession, Torres had great movement and did well to lose defenders before receiving the ball. Her pace and timing of runs was great and made her more of a threat in the attacking third. Notably, Meah scans the field and checks her shoulder off the ball regularly.   On the ball, she takes players on well and has good passing. She will try to create a chance out of any moment on the ball. Additionally, she showed that she can and will take chances in and around that box that can challenge a goalkeeper. Overall, Meah Torres is a strong attacking player for Legends FC and had a good performance in this match.     Makayla Argueta plays as a midfielder and as a forward for Legends FC ECNL G13. She is a hardworking and attacking minded individual that had a positive impact on the pitch. Notably, she scored the goal for Legends FC that gave her team a chance in the final minutes.   Off the ball, Argueta did well to stay connected defensively and make bold runs in possession. Her work rate is what lead to the goal, Makayla was able to pick of the rebound and place it past the goalkeeper to stay in the game.   On the ball, Argueta looks to create in the attacking third. She does well under pressure and showed to be consistent in connecting with her teammates. Overall, Makayla Argueta played well throughout this match and played an important part in keeping her team in the game.
