The South Rush Cup by Rush Soccer is a marquee event on the FYSA calendar. Contested in Pensacola's Ashton Brosnaham Soccer Complex this back to school weekend, this tournament features top Rush programs across the South - and top Florida academies - alike. Under the summer sun, top programs from ECNL RL to N1 gave us exciting soccer when most are in the offseason. Here are some top boys prospects that made their mark in this tournament:    Lowcountry Rush wingback who provides needed width for his side. As play redirects into wide areas, namely down the right wing, Sam is the spark plug who uses physical attributes to make the most of the role. Controlled pace and timing allows the chance to make plays both ways, while awareness and reactions lead to redirecting momentum back where it is required.     Lowcountry Rush winger / attacking midfielder who utilizes low center of gravity to a tee. Speed when receiving in or out, escaping the congested midfield. High work rate present making way for support in every action, leading to more chance creation opportunities in the final phase of play. Key close touches that aid forwards to goalscoring paths they otherwise may have not noticed before.     Coastal Rush dynamic, pacy, utility attacker who can wreak havoc off the dribble. Prevalent in half spaces across the front four unit, the flair on the dribble creates easy work ahead in key zones. The ability to use skill moves effectively, while incorporating them seamlessly during a play, shows maturity for an attacker who frequents the forward line at a high clip. Daytona Beach FC midfielder who occupies central positions across the middle third. Simple movements, pulls off clean turns well, effectively shielding possession against danger. Able to spray passes with solid technique to free runners into open grass forwards. Supports in close build-up play to contribute to the team's bigger picture. Uses balance and vision to find the proactive pass without lapse.     Daytona Beach FC midfielder who is a destroyer in the backfield. Splitting lanes, putting in forceful tackles, finding a way to be a needle in the haystack and kill whatever momentum the opposition may have. Scans to recognize surroundings quickly, then goes in where deployed. On the ball, short runs and guided passes help support this continued motion of taking the initiative.
