WA State High School Girls Soccer: Who’s on the Radar?

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The 2026 high school girls' season in the PNW is already in full swing and we have had some exciting matchups throughout the region. New freshman athletes have entered the chat, and tenured seniors have been elevated to team captains and leaders. This is what high school soccer is all about!</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Last season was an epic finish for many teams in Western Washington. <strong>Mount Si High School</strong> were considered underdogs in the state tourney but went on to hoist the 4A state championship trophy at Sparks Stadium last November. <strong>Bellevue High School</strong> continued their dominance and won their 2nd state title in 4 years in the 3A class and will look to make it 3 in 2026, but it won't be easy. The 1A class state champions, <strong>Cedar Park Christian</strong> <strong>(Bothell)</strong>, showed us why they were the top school in their class and the #1 seed in the state tourney! They outscored their opponents, 23-1 while bringing home their 5th state title. Can they 3-peat in 2026? <strong>Crosspoint Cristian</strong> took home the 1B/2B state title with shutouts in 3 of their final 4 matches. Last but definitely NOT least, one team from Eastern Washington, <strong>West Valley High School (Spokane)</strong>, made a statement and took home the 2A state title and reminded us that there is elite talent in ALL corners of the state!</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>As we move on from a fantastic 2025, we look to a new season, with fresh faces and retooled squads seeking to bring a title back to their school OR possibly, start a new dynasty. She has sneaky speed and unexpected power. She leans towards the attack and has a plethora of skill moves to beat defenders. Zehnder has the eyes of the US soccer federation on her and will continue to develop as a dominant athlete at the high school and ECNL level. Lucca fits that bill exactly. She is a defensive minded midfielder with fantastic awareness of the pitch. Winkler knows when and where her teammates are going to be and distributes beautifully. Lucca finds tight windows to place crosses and through balls into the attack and also battles to keep possession. The Mount Si Wildcats are coming off a state championship and seemingly only got better with their freshman talent. Coder provides skill, speed and athleticism to an already stacked and experienced unit. Her ability to seemingly slow the match down while moving at her pace and skill, is impressive. Emry possesses stellar foot skills and ball placement. She can power a shot into net or slot a pass into dangerous spaces like a veteran. Her defensive game is solid, and she has the ability to play anywhere across the back line. Aspen can dictate where attackers move with her awareness and physicality. She is great at winning 50/50 balls and distributes quickly and efficiently. Austin can control aerial possession with a stout header game and is also known to get into the attack and shoot from time to time. Not only because of her height, but the skills she combines with it. Her physicality and vertical advantage allow her to keep possession and attack goal on her timeline. Perry moves well in space and is a challenge for opposing defenders. Emma has an eye for goal and when you combine that with her talented Auburn Riverside squad, she should be getting on the scoresheet often this season.
