Ranking Analysis: Midfielders to know from National Rankings

The attribute from her game that stood out from scouting was her movement off the ball. She has a high activity level (she is moving a lot during the game), but it's never without a purpose. She is showing for teammates, moving to areas for support, and excellent at keeping the balance of her squad to cut out options on the counter. In possession of the ball, she has a clean first touch and makes quick decisions because she is always thinking a step ahead. Macke is a runner and has track speed. She is a state champion in that sport too. On the soccer field, she is the top recruit from Iowa in this class. She is a midfielder who would be a perfect fit for a high-pressing style. She can cover the ground and make the quick decisions in the transition. She plays with her head up and wants to hit teammates with direct passes to break the lines. She did well in the National Selection Game, which should be enough to raise her stock at a national level. Easy to see how she would fit at the next level as a No. 8. The more I watched Real Colorado game film, the more apparent it was how influential Frenz was for her side. She really runs the ship for that team. She is a state champion on the track as well. She plays as a defensive center midfielder for Sporting Blue Valley. The way she tackles really stood out from game film. She has quick feet - in the same level of wingers - there aren't many DCM who play with kind of agility to pull the ball out of tackles and dance away from players with how light on the toes she is. Ross also stood out for her passing. She pings the ball with pace from side to side. Nylen could be a No. 6 or a No. 8 at the next level. Her elite attribute is how she sees the game. She reads the play and anticipates where to be. She checks her shoulder before receiving the ball and does well in keeping possession of the ball. She is an excellent passer and good at making runs off the ball to be an option for her side. She has a good change of pace and can get past defenders when they are caught on their heels or slow moving laterally. She has enough of a bite defensively to fill in as a No. 8 as well.
